According to family this cemetery was established when Manuel Sanchez set aside the land for the family to be buried in. It was to remain a private cemetery just for their family, but others have been buried here without permission.

Llano de la Yegua Cemetery - Penasco - Go northwest on Kit Carson Road towards Barela Lane. Turn left at Paseo Del Pueblo Sur, turn left at NM-518, turn right at NM-75, turn left at Placita Road, turn left at Llano Dela Vegua Road, continue on Llano de la Yegua Road.
