Fernando “Hi-Fi” Trujillo Sr. - Pueblo Chieftain - January 02, 2005 - Fernando “Hi-Fi” Trujillo Sr., 63, passed away on Dec. 28, 2004. Preceded in death by parents, Fermin and Eleanor; sisters, Doris (David) Armijo, Nancy; brothers, Ralph, George, Victor and Samuel; mother-in-law, Mary Romero. Fernando is survived by wife, Eleanor; daughter, Josette; sons, Fernando Jr. and Benjamin; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; father-in-law, Salvador Romero; sisters, Edith (Juan) Leiba, Catherine, Peggy, Betty (Gene) Bustemonte, Corine; brothers, Robert and Mike (Rose); numerous nieces and nephews. Fernando loved spending time with family, friends, watching the Broncos and playing bingo. Fidelina Trujillo - Pueblo Chieftain - May 23, 2006 - Fidelina Trujillo, 81, went into the arms of the Lord at her home on May 20, 2006. She left us peacefully surrounded by family. She crocheted beautifully, loved growing plants and flowers, and loved being the center of family events and activities. She was an active member of Salt Creek Mothers Club. Daughter of the late Eli and Mary Martinez, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Charles Trujillo; daughter, Matilda; grandson, Scott Lynch; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Trujillo; and brother, Arsenio Martinez. Fidelina was born on Aug. 27, 1924, in Cleveland, N.M. She married John Charles Trujillo on Jan. 14, 1942. She was born on January 6, 1923 in Cokedale, Colorado to Manuel and Rumalda (Bueno) Ortega. She was united in marriage to Joe Max Trujillo in May of 1945. Flora was a caring, loving mother and wife. She was an exceptional cook and enjoyed crafting. Flora was preceded in death by her parents. Husband of Josephine M. Trujillo and father of Henry O. (Berlinda) Trujillo of Pueblo, Lydia (Julie) Tanawanda, New York, Priscilla (J. Tom) Salazar of Colorado Springs, Leroy (Amy) J. Trujillo of Toole, Utah, and Frank Trujillo of Colorado Springs; three brothers, Max Trujillo, Eligio Trujillo, and Joe A. Trujillo, all of Pueblo; one sister, Rumalda Martinez of Milliken; 24 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Trujillo celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary Dec. 21, 1985. Trujillo, Gary Wayne
Gary Wayne Trujillo - Newspaper Unknown – January 2005 - Trinidad, Colorado - Gary Wayne Trujillo, 45, passed away at Mt. San Rafael Hospital on Dec. 31, 2004. He was born in Raton on Nov. 5, 1959, to Adeline (Lena) Vigil and Alphonso Trujillo. Gary attended area schools, graduating from Trinidad High School in 1978. He then attended TSJC for two years. Gary was previously employed by Safeway, and was an insurance agent for several years. He will best be remembered for his love and involvement in our community where he was always making a difference in the lives of many. He previously owned a disco club known as “Across the Tracks,” a place where youth and college students could gather. He was involved in the Special Olympics and was very instrumental in making the 2004 American Diabetes Walk a huge success in Trinidad. He never knew a stranger and was always willing to help those in need, no matter how busy he was. He always had time, a precious and rare gift that Gary had for others. Gary also enjoyed horseback riding, loved the outdoors and his dogs. Recently he was involved in pursuing an acting career and appeared in a Conoco commercial. He was preceded in death by his mother Adeline “Lena” Trujillo. Survivors include his father Alphonso Trujillo, Trinidad; a brother, Kenny Trujillo and wife Sheri, Denver; nephews, Troy Trujillo, New York; aunts and uncles, Elmer Vigil and wife Charlotte, Denver, Pif Vigil and wife Mary Jane, Pueblo, Irene Salvatori and husband Bob, Denver, Rose Trujillo, Trinidad; special friends, Gail Courtney and Teresa Minlo; ex-wife Del Morris, Pueblo; many cousins and a host of friends. George Trujillo - Pueblo Chieftain - September 21, 1987 - George Trujillo, 67, passed away at Penrose Main Hospital on Sept. 19, 1987. Mr. Trujillo is survived by his wife, Eleanor; daughter, Dianne, and three granddaughters, Denise, Renee, Sharleen, of Monument; brother, Ralph (Liz) Trujillo of Trinidad; two sisters, Dora Olvarez and Beatrice (Joe) Lopez, both of Denver; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Trujillo was born on Sept. 17, 1920, in Grey Creek. He was formerly from Trinidad. He was a retired teacher from School District No. 1, where he taught for 21 years. Mr. Trujillo was a staff sergeant with the 182nd Field Artillery Battalion during World War II. He served in battles and campaigns in Rome, Arno, Rhineland, Central Europe and Aleutian Islands. Mr. Trujillo was a member of the Pacific Theater and European II. Rosary and Mass at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1 987, at St. Patrick's, 304 E. Routt Ave. Interment, Veterans Court of Honor, Imperial Memorial Gardens. Graveside rites to be conducted by Fort Carson Military. Germo Orlando Trujillo Jr. - Delta County Independent - July 20, 2006 - Delta, CO - Germo Orlando Trujillo Jr. of Delta died Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at his home. He was 67. No services are planned at this time. Mr. Trujillo was born Dec. 7, 1938, in Jansen, to Germo and Della Erlanda (Mestas) Trujillo. He spent his childhood in Jansen and Denver where he graduated from South High School. He moved from the Denver area to Delta nine years ago. He served in the United States Marines. Mr. Trujillo was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Delta. He was disabled. He enjoyed music, walking and reading the Bible. He is survived by five sisters, Alice Miller and her husband Bill of Elkhorn, Neb., Josephine Leavitt of Littleton, Erma Govea of Montrose, Vivian Hadad of Highlands Ranch, and JoAnn Naranjo of Florida; and 21 nieces and nephews. Ida and her husband Rosendo Trujillo were formerly of Pueblo, Colo. She was born in Portland, Colo. on July 3, 1929, to Benito and Isabel Martinez, who preceded her in death along with her son, Donald, and 5 brothers, Gilbert, George, Louis, Albert, and Orlando Martinez. Ida is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Rosendo; two children, Ron Trujillo of Chandler, Ariz., and Rose Ann (Eduardo) Gonzales of Littleton, Colo. Ida left behind six granddaughters, Collette, Darla, Christina, Elizabeth, Rochelle, and Marissa; one grandson, Paul; five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. Isidro C. “Smokey” Trujillo - Pueblo Chieftain - August 21, 2003 - Isidro C. “Smokey” Trujillo, 69, went home to be with the Lord, Aug. 19, 2003. He was born June 14, 1934, to the union of Conception Trujillo and Della Montez, who preceded him in death. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy “Lovelady” Trujillo, on April 2, 1990; and brother, Lawrence Trujillo, on Feb. 25, 1992. Survived by his loving children, Chris (Yolanda) Trujillo, Barbara (Richard) Montoya, Michael (Marlene) Trujillo, Patricia (Shane) Cole and Ronald (Sherry) Trujillo; 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, family and friends and all who knew and loved him. Also survived by special friends, and caregiver, Mary Beth Lane. He is retired from the United States Army, a decorated veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War, and Department of Transportation. Jake Zacarias Trujillo - Huerfano World - May 8, 2008 - Jake Zacarias Trujillo, 95, passed away on May 1, 2008. He was born January 22, 1913 in Sunnyside, CO. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Emilia LeDoux-Trujillo; father Jose Abel Trujillo; mother, Rebecca Armijo-Trujillo; brothers, Dave and Marcelino Trujillo; sisters Ida Armijo, Margaret Gabales, and Angela Lucero; son, Larry Allen Trujillo; and granddaughter, Edith Salamon. He worked as a coal miner since age 17 in the surrounding area of Walsenburg and was the oldest living coal miner in Huerfano County. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a kind and loving person, who had a heart of gold and loved his family dearly. Survived by son, Alfred “Jake” (Anita) Trujillo, Walsenburg; Juanita (Ben) Vigil, Pueblo; Lorraine Cordova, Denver; Lucille (Anthony) Martinez, Pueblo; Edith Ann Trujillo, Walsenburg. Also survived by sister, Anna Marie Pacheco, Colorado Springs; 28 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren, and 30 great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives. He was a very devoted father, grandfather, uncle and brother. He was also an honest and a loyal man to his friends and colleagues. Jesusita Trujillo - World Independent – November 5, 1952 - Pioneer Woman To Be Buried On Friday - A resident of Huerfano county for 99 years died last Sunday. She was Jesusita Trujillo of Walsenburg. Mrs. Trujillo was born in Walsenburg and lived here all her life. She was a member of St. Mary's church. Survivors include four sons: Sacadia Trujillo, Denver, and Pete, Moises, and Augustine, all of Walsenburg. There are also 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The rosary recitation will be Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. in Furphy chapel. Requiem high mass will be at 9 a.m. at St. Mary church Friday. The funeral will leave Furphy chapel at 8:30 a.m. Interment will be at St. Mary cemetery.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Apostolic Church of Jesus, 1320 Kingston St., Pueblo, with the Rev. Obed Vigil officiating. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Family Funeral Care Chapel, 125 E. Seventh St., Pueblo. Mrs. Trujillo is survived by her mother, Rosenda Sanchez of Pueblo; two sons, Jake and David, both of Pueblo; two brothers, Anthony Sanchez of Denver and Clarence "Jim" Sanchez of Colorado Springs; three sisters, Marie Espinoza of Blanca, and Rebecca Martellaro and Lucille Hinkle, both of Colorado Springs; and three grandchildren. Mrs. Trujillo enjoyed fishing, cooking and crafts.
Joe Trujillo - Walsenburg World-Independent - December 16, 1932 - A coroner's jury to investigate the death of Joe Trujillo, who was killed in a South Main Street pool hall Monday night, will meet at court house this Saturday. Trujillo, it is alleged, went to the pool hall to collect money and a quarrel ensued and Trujillo used his gun firing several shots. Odak, the pool hall proprietor, grappled with him and in the melee Trujillo was hit over the head with a billiard cue or a billiard ball, crushing the skull, and he died at his home from the injuries. Odak is in the county jail and so is Dan Radulavich awaiting the investigation of the jury. It is not known which of the men, or if it was either that gave the fatal blow. The public will await with interest the evidence that may be brought out at the inquest. Mr. Trujillo previously worked in civil service at the Air Force Academy. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. U.S. 85/87, Fountain. Craig Bagenstos officiating. Burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver. Mr. Trujillo was born July 29, 1928, in Walsenburg, to Adolph and Praxedes Trujillo. He had lived in Colorado Springs since 1964 and was a former resident of Fort Jackson, S.C. Mr. Trujillo served in the Army from 1951 until 1963 and was discharged with the rank of specialist five. He was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church. He was married Nov. 27, 1961, in Colorado Springs, to Jane Heydinger, who survives. Mr. Trujillo also is survived by a daughter, Lara, a student at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn.; two brothers, Fritz of Pueblo and Frank of Denver; and three sisters, Rose Ibanez of Pueblo, Pricilla Sanchez of Winslow, Ariz., and Dee Miller of Denver. Born Dec. 8, 1921, in Clayton, N.M. Mr. Trujillo served in WWII, where he attained the rank of sergeant. He was a light machine gun squad leader. He was awarded the Purple Heart with Cluster, the Bronze Star, WWII Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Ribbon with three Bronze Stars. Mr. Trujillo was wounded twice, at Palegney, France on Sept. 24, 1944, and Zinsweiller, France on Dec. 2, 1944. Preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Victoria Cervantes Trujillo; his parents, Maximiliano and Fedelina Trujillo; siblings, David, Max and Louie Trujillo. Retired from the Pueblo Army Depot. Lifetime member of Steel City DAV Chapter 39. A Pueblo resident for many years, J," as he was known to family and friends, was born May 10, 1918, in Huerfano County. Served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was wounded in an enemy bomb blast and received a Purple Heart decoration. He retired from the Pueblo Army Depot as a general supply foreman. He also worked in the CC Camps, charter member of DAV Post 39, Eagles Lodge No. 145, American Legion Post 2 and St. Francis Xavier Church. Justin Michael Conception Trujillo - Pueblo Chieftain - July 02, 2002 - Justin Michael Conception Trujillo, 9, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 28, 2002, in Orlando, Fla., where he was on summer vacation. A lifetime Pueblo resident, he was born Feb. 18, 1993. Survived by his father, Ivan Alfonso Trujillo; mother, Veronica Lucero; siblings, Charrisa, Latisha and Abram Lucero; grandparents, Alfonso and Audrey Trujillo and Fred and Rita Lucero; great-grandmothers, Julia Lucero and Mary Garcia; aunts and uncles, Annette and Rick Martinez, John and Stacy Trujillo, Richie and Beverly Trujillo and Marlene and Carlos Calderon; and numerous cousins, other relatives and friends. Justin was a student at the Pueblo School for the Arts and Sciences. He enjoyed basketball, bike riding and fishing, He also liked to write poems and draw. Kathleen Mary Trujillo - Pueblo Chieftain - November 28, 2002 - Kathleen Mary Trujillo, 82, beloved wife, mother and grandmother and a friend to all, departed this life Nov. 26, 2002, at Life Care Center, Pueblo. A British citizen, Mrs. Trujillo was born June 19, 1920, in County Norfolk, South Creake, England. She served in the Woman's Land Army of her beloved England, for which she received the Queen of England Service Commendation Medal. She was also a member of Tea Cozy Club, composed of World War II war brides. She married Rufino Anthony "Tony" Trujillo June 2, 1945, in Fakenham, England. Preceded in death by her parents, Albert Winter and Ethel Victoria Daykin Purple. She is survived by her beloved husband, Tony Trujillo, of the family home; children, Janet (Phillip) Cash, Colorado Springs, Allen Trujillo, Albuquerque, N.M., Leonard (Cheryl) Trujillo, Pueblo; brothers, Peter (Betty) Purple, Dick Purple, Jack (Gwen) Purple, all of England; four grandchildren, Tara Ann (Michael Serry) McClelland, Brent Trujillo, Todd (Tara) McClelland, Jeremy Trujillo; other relatives and friends both here and in England. Mrs. Trujillo was born Aug. 28, 1908, in Sunnyside Gold Camp to Guadalupe and Geronima (Sandoval) Hurtado. She had attended Holy Family Catholic Church, Security, and was a member of the Coronado Club and St. Mary's Catholic Church, both in Walsenburg. Mrs. Trujillo was married Dec. 1, 1934, in Walsenburg to Joe Eusebio Trujillo, who died in 1975. She is survived by a son, Joe E. of Grand Junction; six daughters, Lillian Clark, Edna Barry and Louise, all of Colorado Springs, Lorraine Hartung of Elwood, Wis., Carol Stives of Belmont, N.Y., and Eileen McMullen of Security; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Leo P. Honcho Trujillo - Colorado Springs Gazette - May 31, 2009 - Leo P. Honcho Trujillo, a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather, and respected friend, passed away on May 27th, 2009 with his family at his side. Leo was born on April 30th, 1932 in Madrid, Colorado to Paul and Mary (Sandoval) Trujillo. Leo married Olivia Varoz on August 16th, 1957 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He had been a life long resident of Colorado Springs. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister Marie Dakan and brothers, Salvador, Alfred and Joseph. Leo is survived by the love of his life of 51 years, Olivia, devoted sons, Lawrence (Ellen), Leon (Chella), and Len David Sr., two brothers, four sisters, seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He was a Korean War veteran and lifetime member of the VFW Post 4051 and Elks Lodge 309. Leo retired from the United States Air Force Academy as the Head Superintendent of Heavy Equipment, Grounds, and Pavement after 34 years of Civil Service. He was a dedicated and devoted member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church serving the parish in many capacities since 1948. Leo was loved by his family and had the respect of many friends. He touched everyone that he met and welcomed you into his family. He inspired his grandchildren and great grand children to work hard and to succeed in whatever they did. Leo enjoyed Mexican music, taking care of his garden, fishing and hunting. He was also an avid Broncos football fan who would throw his orange foam brick at anyone that cheered for the opposing team. Leo will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. A Visitation will be held Monday June 1st, 2009 at 5:30 - 8:00 pm with Rosary at 7:00 pm. A Service with Reception following will be held on Tuesday June 2nd, 2009 at 11:00 am. Both will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Linda Trujillo - Pueblo Chieftain - January 23, 1987 - Adeline Lopez, owner of Addie's Thrift Shoppe, 679 S. Union, will have a benefit sale today and Saturday to help defray funeral costs for the family of a 31-year-old Pueblo woman. Linda Trujillo, a resident of Rocky Mountain Corrections Center, died Jan. 14 of a drug overdose, according to County Coroner James Kramer. The woman's body remains un-buried because the family can't afford the $1,800 burial expenses. An account has also been established at Minnequa Bank to help the family, including her four children. She was an active member of the St. Leander Catholic Church. Mary Trujillo - Huerfano World Journal - November 19, 2009 - Another angel has joined the lord on November 11, 2009. Mary "Trini" Trujillo was born in Huerfano County on December 31st, 1932, and lived there her entire life. Trini was well known throughout Walsenburg, and touched the lives of many of its residents. She was also the mother of ten children. She is survived by nine of her children; Mariana Ibanez, Donna (George) Galvan, Margaret "Peg" (Mark) Ibanez-Swicegood, Michael Ibanez, Loretta Ibanez, Timothy Ibanez, Anna Trujillo, John Trujillo, and Kimberly (Kurt) Liebchen, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Anthony Ibanez and Rudolph Trujillo, and son Ralph Trujillo. Her parents were Miguel "Mike" Moreno and Otilia "Tilly" and Pete Martinez. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Pennsylvania Ave. in Walsenburg, on Friday, November 13 at 7 pm. Pastor B. J. Worthen is officiating.

Cascade Ave. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Trujillo was born Oct. 16, 1909, in Pueblo, to Ignacio and Sophia (Vigil) Trujillo. He lived in the area all his life. Mr. Trujillo served in the Army under Gen. Patton and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 582, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and a former member of the Legion of Mary. He was married Sept. 4, 1937, in Springer, N.M., to Adelia Martinez, who survives. Millie M. Trujillo - Colorado Springs Gazette - January 13, 1999 - Millie M. Trujillo, 82, died Jan. 11, 1999, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Trujillo was born April 6, 1916, in Gardner. She was married Oct. 8, 1955, to Johnnie A. Trujillo. She is survived by her husband; a son, J. Lionel; a daughter, Josephine Casados; and a grandchild. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday at The Angelus Chapel Funeral Directors, 2535 Airport Road, 391-1918, and from noon to 5 p.m. Friday at The Angelus Funeral Chapel Directors, 1101 E. Evans Ave., Pueblo. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church, 101 N. Main St., Fountain, and at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Church, 101 Logan Ave., Pueblo. A Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Church. Burial will be in Gardner.

Minnie M. Trujillo - Huerfano World - May 31, 1990 - Walsenburg native, Minnie Trujillo died in San Leandro, CA, May 24, 1990, after a lengthy illness. Born May 8, 1917, in Walsenburg, she was associated with Anchor Hocking Glass Company for 24 years and was a member of the Glass Blowers Union. Mrs. Trujillo is survived by her sons, James Medina and Henry Trujillo, both of San Leandro; four sisters, Antonia Batuello, Walsenburg, Lucy Montoya and Jenny Gonzales, both of Pueblo and Margaret Martinez, Oceanside, CA; three brothers, Felix Medina, Newark, CA, Julian Medina, Walsenburg and John Medina, Pueblo and three grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday from St. Mary Church. Burial was in North St. Mary Cemetery. J.M. Antle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
