Survived by his wife, Inez Rocco- daughter, Rosalie (Larry) Enos, Denver, Colo., and stepchildren, Donald (Dixie) Cunico, Crescent City, Calif., Jerry (Jerrianne) Cunico, Pueblo, Colo., Larry (Jean) Cunico, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Dennis(Linda) Cunico, Pueblo, Colo. Also survived by numerous step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren- sister, Val Datz, Pueblo, Colo.- and sister-in-law ,Olga Rocco, Santa Maria, Calif. Preceded in death by his first wife, Yolanda and daughter, Mary Louise Nichols- brothers, Joe Rocco and Rocky Rocco and sisters, Mur DeJoy and Virginia Rapue. Mr. Rocco was a member of the Pueblo Aerie No. 145 (FOE), a former member of BPOE No. 611 in Florence, Colo., and also a member of the United Steel Workers of America Retired Men's Club No.2102. Calistro Rocha – Pueblo Colorado Daily Chieftain – May 27, 1873 – Tragedy in Bent County. – We condense the following from the Las Animas Leader: About two weeks ago Gregory Baldonado shot Calistro Rocha, who died from the wound a day or two afterward. Baldonado was arrested, first on the charge of assault with intent to kill and then for the crime of murder, and on examination for the last charge was dismissed. He was then arrested again for manslaughter, a change of venue was demanded and granted, and after trial he was discharged. After his second release, while charges were being drawn up to rearrest him, upon the advice of his council he left the court room and ran toward the river. He was pursued by the constable and ordered to stop, and failing to do so, was shot by the officer as he was crossing the river, and died from the effect of this wound a short time after. An inquest was held on his remains, and the officer exonerated from all guilt in causing his death. Both of the men who lost their lives were Mexicans.

John H. Rocha - Yakima Herald-Republic - February 22, 2004 - John H. Rocha, 77, of Wapato died Thursday. Mr. Rocha was born in Trinidad, Colo. He served in the Army from 1944 to 1947, and later moved to Wapato. Survivors include his wife, Ida Rocha of Wapato; three sons, David Rocha and John Rocha Jr., both of Wapato, and Matthew Rocha of Yakima; two daughters, Dorothy Rocha of Wapato and Monica Solis of Toppenish; two brothers, Joe Rocha and Pasqual Rocha, both of Wapato; two sisters, Mary Hernandez of Toppenish and Nellie Flores of Seattle; and seven grandchildren. Vigil service will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Merritt Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Wapato. Stevan Fortune Rocha - Pueblo Chieftain - August 02, 1997 - Steven Fortune Rocha, 51, passed away July 31, 1997. A Pueblo resident for over 40 years, Stevan graduated from Pueblo Central High School in 1964 and USC. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was a member of the Special Forces, earning several awards and citations. Employed as a mechanical engineer for Centura Health (St. Mary-Corwin Hospital). He was born June 23, 1946, in Greeley. Preceded in death by his father, Fortune Ornales Rocha, and stepfather, Richard Morales. Survived by wife, Connie Rocha- son, Michael Stevan Rocha- mother, Virginia Morales- sister, Lupe (Joel) Rocha-Gillespie- brother, David Andrew (Veronica) Rocha- grandson, Sean Michael Rocha- and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. James D. Rochester, Jr. - Pueblo Chieftain - December 22, 1987 - James D. Rochester, Jr., 61, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital in Denver on Dec. 21, 1987. Mr. Rochester is survived by his wife, Mary Jean Rochester; four sons, Danny, James Rochester of Escondido, Calif., Dennis L. Rochester of Pueblo; Richard L. Rochester of Aurora, James D. Rochester III of Rye; six grandchildren; step-mother, Allene Rochester of Anderson, S.C.; three brothers, Rev. Harold Rochester of Anderson, S.C., Milton Rochester of Ninety Six, S.C., Darrel Rochester of Jacksonville, Fla.; and three sisters, Dorothy Sisson of Norfolk, Va., Joan Sizemore of Wareshouls; S.C., and Joyce Beard of Akens, S.C. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Rochester was born on June 3, 1926, in Greenwood, S.C., and was a Pueblo resident for the past 39 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked at P.A.D. for 13 years, was owner and operator of Bonny Hy-land Liquors, and was the previous owner of the Alibi Lounge. Along with other family members, he was one of the owners of the Burltree Restaurant and the Bluefish Cove Restaurant. He was a member of the Church of God ; in Greenwood, S.C., a member of the American Legion, former national director for the License Beverage Association, and former; president of the Centennial High School Bulldads. Visitation hours from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today, at Imperial Funeral Home. Service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23 at Imperial Chapel. Graveside service at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, at Liberal Cemetery in Liberal, Kan. Family will receive friends at the Burltree Restaurant following the service. Margaret Ann Rochon - Pueblo Chieftain - November 29, 2001 - Margaret Ann Rochon of Denver, formerly of Pueblo, died Nov. 18, 2001. She was born Oct. 19, 1920, in Princeton, Ind., to Maggie and Walter Arburn, who are deceased. Margaret retired from Mountain Bell in Pueblo and Denver after 30 years as a switchboard operator and customer service representative. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed bingo, ceramics, gardening and needle craft. Survived by daughter and best friend, Sherrie Ann Burdette, Denver; and other family members, including Dorothy (Sam) Prough, Pueblo, Jean and Charles Weir, Newburgh, Ind., Mary Jo Brewster, Whitefield, Ind., Freddie Davidson, Potann, Md., Darlene Graham, Pueblo, Marge Mastrini, Pueblo, Bob Arburn and family, San Antonio, Texas, and Dottie and Dan Arburn, Belleville, Ill. Rocke, Alice Ann
Alice Ann Rocke - Pueblo Chieftain - July 30, 2006 - Alice Ann Rocke passed away on July 4, 2006 wrapped in the love of family and friends. She was born on Jan. 11, 1954 to James Robert and Mary Lockard, the youngest of three children. She grew up in Pueblo, Colo., migrating to Alaska in 1998. Alice graduated from University of Southern Colorado and recently earned her Masters Degree from the University of Arkansas. She worked a variety of jobs from pressman to professional chef to vocational rehabilitation counselor, marking life-long friends along the way. She met Dave Rocke while working at Waterfall Resort in 1985 and they were later married on Oct. 10, 1998. Together they started Family Air. Always surrounded by people, she treasured time spent with her husband, family and friends. Her cats also held a special place in her heart. Alice enjoyed travel, gardening, reading, scrapbooking, art and music. She was passionate about her work, her beliefs and was always an enthusiastic supporter of her husband and his diverse talents. Her sense of humor, loyalty, and encouragement made her a valued friend and associate. She is survived by her husband Dave, brother Ken (Diane) and Jim Lockard, mother and father-in-law Ken and Peg Rocke, nephews Richard and Seth Lockard, niece Erin Johnson and a multitude of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Her spirit, her courage, and her love of life are an inspiration. She was well loved and will be missed.

George Daniel Rockwell - Pueblo Chieftain - March 5, 1987 - George Daniel Rockwell, late of Pueblo, died Tuesday, March 3, 1987, at a local hospital. Survived by wife, Mabel, of the family home; children, Rodney (Joyce) Rockwell, Dan (Lana) Rockwell, both of Colorado Springs, Jack (Judy) Rockwell, Mary Lou (Del) Copeland, both of Pueblo; and three sisters, Charlotte Carlson, Florence (Harry) Markus, both of Pueblo, Mildred (Glenn) Vinyard, Rocky Ford. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Born April 16, 1911, in Douglas, Wyo. Mr. Rockwell served in the U.S. Navy. He was a deputy tax appraiser for 11 years, retiring in 1975 and previously had worked at Holmes Hardware for 25 years. In 1933, he moved from the Ordway area to Pueblo. Mr. and Mrs. Rockwell were married Oct. 15, 1933, in Ordway. Memorial service, 7:30 p.m. today, Grace Community Bible Church, with the Rev. Dan Lyons officiating. There will be a time of sharing after the church service. Interment with a graveside service, 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, Fort Lyon National Cemetery. Philip P. Rodacy - Pueblo Chieftain - November 10, 2006 - Philip P. Rodacy, 81, departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Nov. 8, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Anna Rodacy; and his sister, Eleanor Dorr. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 55 years, Martha; his children, Phil (Ilene) Rodacy of Albuquerque, N.M., Patty (Tom) Firestone, Lorrie (Wayne) DeHerrera and Cathy (Ken) Danylchuk, all of Pueblo; brothers, Frank, Robert and Jim (Janet) Rodacy; and grandchildren, Melissa (Tim) Reynolds, Kelly, Heather and Beth Firestone, Amber DeHerrera, Katie (John) Velarde, Amy (Ryan) Torres, Laura, Emily, Mark and Michael DeHerrera, and Erin, Tyler, Haley and Sarah Danylchuk. He also is survived by sister-in-law, Helen McKee; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Philip was a lifelong resident of Pueblo, where he was born on March 17, 1925. He retired from Mountain Bell Telephone Co. after 38 years of service. A masterful hobbyist, Philip spent much of his time working on various projects that he enjoyed sharing with his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time in Rye, getting together with his family, and "bumming" around town. He will be deeply missed by his family, who will remember his wonderful stories, his unique sense of humor, and most of all, his love and dedication to those he loved most. Rodasta, Shirley Ann
Shirley Ann Neighbours Rodasta - Pueblo Chieftain - February 04, 2002 - Passed away Jan. 31, 2002, in Pueblo. Shirley was born Nov. 4, 1931, in Buda, Ill., to Roy and Viola Lay and had been a Pueblo resident since 1946. She was a member of the Lakeview Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. In October 1948 Shirley married Marvin Neighbours and in November of 1972 she married Joe Rodasta. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Rodasta in 1978; sons, Millard Earl Neighbours in 1972 and David Neighbours in 2000; and daughter, Susan Neighbours in 1995. Her survivors include her daughter, Laura (Luiz) Linhares of Pueblo West; sons Marvin Neighbours Jr. and Thomas (Nancy) Neighbours, both of Pueblo; her grandchildren, Josh, to whom she was a mother figure, Joe (Liz), Marvin III (Jennifer), Tammy, Amber, Rose, Crystal and Laura; four great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Lay of Denver; sisters, Ruth Weed and Lillian (Eugene) Graff, both of Pueblo, and Katie (Ed) Zoleman of New Mexico; an “adopted daughter,” Linda Lubanowski; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. At her request, no viewing, cremation, Davis Crematory. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Marie Rulo; and son, David. Survived by her husband, Ben; daughter, Gail Ann of Beaufort, S.C.; sons, Gary of Pueblo and Rodger of Littleton; grandson, Dave of Tallahassee, Fla.; and great-granddaughter, Airel of Nevada. Mrs. Roderique was retired from American Optical Co., a loving wife, devoted mother and member of the Altar Society. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Interment, Richwoods, Mo., at a later date.

Benjamin H. Roderique - Pueblo Chieftain - June 24, 2006 - Benjamin H. Roderique, passed away June 23, 2006, in Pueblo. Ben was born Oct. 27, 1922, in Richwoods, Mo., to Ben and Elizabeth Roderique and had lived in Pueblo since 1955. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served as a tail gunner on a B-24 Liberator during World War II. His plane was shot down and he was held as a Swiss Internee. Ben worked as a truck driver for Yellow Freight before retiring in 1987. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Aletha; and son David. His survivors include daughter, Gail Ann, of South Carolina; sons, Gary, of Pueblo, and Rodger, of Littleton; grandson, Dave; great-granddaughter, Airel; sister, Rose Marie Bondurik; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Cremation in the Davis Crematory. Services and interment will be held in Richwoods, Mo., at a later date.
Allan Rodgers - Pueblo Chieftain - December 12, 2002 - Allan Rodgers, 88, passed away Dec. 9, 2002, at the Veterans facility in Florence, Colo. Allan was born in Longmont, Colo. on Feb. 9, 1914. He was one of six boys and one girl born to William B. and Mary M. Rodgers. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Betty Rodgers, of the family home in Pueblo West; stepdaughter, Kathy (Jim) Gaines of Pueblo West; brother, Jim Rodgers of Troutsdale, Ore.; four grandsons and their families, Danny Moore, Arlington, Ill., David Moore, Bridger, Mont., Dennis Moore, Huntington Beach, Calif., and Joshua Moore, Bridger, Mont.; and son-in-law, Chuck (Iva) Moore, Pueblo West. Allan enlisted in the U.S. Army on Aug. 2, 1932, at Fort McDowell, Calif. He served in the Philippines during WWII under the leadership of General MacArthur as a personnel/administrative officer and retired at the rank of major on Nov. 30, 1959. Allan and Betty together enjoyed bowling, dancing, bingo, traveling all over the United States and attending church at Belmont Church of the Nazarene. The funeral service and military honors will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at the Belmont Church of the Nazarene, 1702 Bonforte Blvd., with Pastor Chuck Gibson officiating. A private family interment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, through the funeral home.

Rodgers of the family home in Pueblo West; children, Patricia Rodgers of Holly, Mich., Sharon Rodgers of New Delhi, India, Susan Lazanas of East Tawas, Mich., and Joyce Rosenthal of Englewood, Colo.; siblings, Robert (Dori) Rodgers of Highland, Mich., William (Diane) Rodgers of Chula Vista, Calif., Shirley Michelin of Troy, Mich., Elizabeth (Siegfried) Gohrmann of White Lake, Mich., and Lawrence (Mary) Rodgers of Johannesburg, Mich.; sister-in-law, Bernice Ewing of East Tawas, Mich.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Gerard was born April 18, 1926, in Detroit, Mich., and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a building contractor who enjoyed his work and working with his customers. He was also a private pilot and flying was his passion. Being multi-talented, he also sang with the Pueblo Sunsational Barbershop Chorus. There will be no viewing. Lena K. Rodgers - Albuquerque Journal – March 16, 2005 - Lena K. Rodgers, a resident of Del Rio, TX, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 12, 2005. Lena was born February 21, 1912 in Pueblo, CO to William and Carolyn Kindel. She married William Rodgers and had one son, also named William Rodgers. Lena was preceded in death by her husband and her son. The family moved to Albuquerque in the late 1930s until 1965 when they returned to Colorado. She was an active member of First Baptist Church and a founding member of Hoffmantown Baptist Church. Lena taught preschool and Sunday School for many years, attended WMU and taught Internationals English as a second language. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Rita Stone; grandchildren, Richard and wife, Teri Rodgers, Laura and husband, Michael Freeman, and Raymond Rodgers; and great-grandchildren, Heather Freeman, Elizabeth Rodgers, and Nicholas Rodgers. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Viola M. Rodgers - Pueblo Chieftain - November 28, 2004 - Viola M. Rodgers, 80, of Pueblo, was born March 12, 1924, and went to be with the Lord on Nov. 24, 2004. Preceded in death by her parents and husband, Henry. Survived by two sisters; children, Frances (Lee) Baca, George Rodgers, Jim (Rita) Rodgers, Rick Rodgers, Peggy (Bob) Trujillo, Sally (Gene) Parker; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was an avid Broncos fan, loved to cook and have family gatherings. Her hobbies were embroidering and fishing. She will be sadly missed by friends and family. Rodman, Clifford Harvey
Clifford Harvey Rodman - Huerfano World - November 30, 1989 - Clifford Harvey Rodman, 80, died at Parkview Hospital Nov. 22, 1989 after a lengthy illness. Mr. Rodman was born Mar. 11, 1909 in Pierre, SD. The family came to Colorado when he was four years of age, settling in the Arkansas Valley. After attending school in Bayfield, he went to work on his family's ranch. He married the former Inez Kirkland in Alamosa on July 19, 1941. In 1951 he moved to La Junta where he worked for the City Electric Department Power Plant and in the water department. He retired from the city in 1972 and moved to Walsenburg, where he worked for several years on the Busch ranch and also operated the Wonder Bar for a year. Survivors include his wife Inez, Walsenburg, two sisters, Blanche Noble, Spring Valley, CA and Katie Chance, El Cajon, CA, a brother, Harold Rodman, Walsenburg and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service was Monday at J.M. Antle Funeral Home Chapel, Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in La Junta. J.M. Antle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Helen Said Rodman - Pueblo Chieftain - September 01, 1997 - Helen Said Rodman, 92, born May 22, 1905, passed away Aug. 30, 1997. She will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren. Survived by her sons, Boyd (Donna) Rodman, Pueblo, and Ray (Cindi) Rodman, Albuquerque, N.M. grandchildren, Christa (Tom) Maybee, Mesa, Ariz., Stephen Rodman, Pueblo, Nicole Rodman, Albuquerque, N.M., Charles Rodman, Boulder, Colo., and Jennifer Podman, California- one great-grandchild, Challys Maybee, Mesa, Ariz.-special nephew, Dorman (LaVerne) Thomason, Pueblo- and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and special neighbors. She was predeceased by her husband, Ermil Rodman, in 1980- brother, William Said, formerly of Wilmington, Del. and sister, Mary Boetz, formerly of Denver. Mrs. Rodman was a dedicated teacher who taught grade school for 30 years, mostly in District 60 and the old District 20. Upon her retirement, she assisted in the education of her grandchildren and enjoyed gardening and reading. Viewing, noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Imperial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery. Bernarda Rodosevich - Pueblo Chieftain - May 11, 1986 - Bernarda Rodosevich, 93, Denver, died May 8, 1986, at Colorado Medical Center after a long illness. She is preceded in death by husband, Frank, 1943, and her daughter, Katherine Rodosevich, 1978. She is survived by daughter, Mary (Frank) Petrucci, Denver; sons, John (Clara) Rodosevich, San Diego, Calif., Joe (Ann) Rodosevich, Colorado Springs, Jack (Mona) Rodosevich and Frank (Helen) Rodosevich, both of Pueblo, and Anthony Rodosevich and Albert (Dorothy) Rodosevich, both of Denver; 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is survived by sisters, Dawn (Roland) Crowder, Waverly Colo., Yvonne Payne, Aguilar; sons, Chuck (Gail) Rodosevich and Steve (Dixie Koncillja) Rodosevich, Pueblo; six grandchildren, Dan (Stacy) Rodosevich, Pueblo West, Shawn (Michelle) Morrison, Crested Butte, Brandon (Jen) Hern, Denver, Charlie and Jessica Rodosevich, Pueblo, Sondi Hern, Eagle and Stacy Dove, Alamosa; 11 great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Nona Brunelli; daughter, Debra Rodosevich (2004); granddaughter, Renee Rodosevich (1986) and grandson Jody Hern (2005). Berniece was born in Bear Creek, Colo. on June 27, 1931. She was married to Ernie (Netto Canavera) Rodosevich in 1948. Berniece was a nurse and worked for many years in Fort Collins, Trinidad and Walsenburg. She lived on the family ranch in Trujillo Creek until she relocated to Pueblo in 1999. Berniece was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She dearly loved her home in Trujillo Creek next to the beautiful Spanish Peaks. Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005 at the Boise-Ortega Funeral Home, 115 E. Fifth St., Walsenburg, Colo. with burial at the Trujillo Creek Cemetery. Debra Ann Rodosevich - Montrose Daily Press - August 28, 2004 - Debra Ann Rodosevich, age 53, of Montrose, entered into rest on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, in Grand Junction due to an aneurysm. Debra was born on April 13, 1951, in Trinidad, Colo. She enjoyed making stained glass, puzzles, flower arranging, photography, producing and editing videos. Debra also loved talking to her mother on the phone every day. Survivors include Debra's loving soul mate, Robert H. "Bob" Smith, of Montrose, Colo.; her mother, Berniece Rodosevich, of Pueblo, Colo.; four sons: Dan (Stacy) Rodosevich, of Pueblo, Colo.; Shawn (Michelle) Morrison, of Westminster, Colo.; Jody (Sondi) Hern, of Eagle Colo.; and Brandon Her, of Golden, Colo. Debra was the proud grandmother of Tyler and Hailee Rodosevich; Jacob, Justin and Jason Morrison; Boe, Hudson and Kaylie Hern; Savannah Carlson; Angela Smith and Brent Smith. She is also survived by two brothers: Chuck (Gail) Rodosevich; Steve (Dixie Koncillja) Rodosevich, all of Pueblo, Colo.; a niece and nephew: Jessica and Charlie Rodosevich; a good friend, Jean Smith; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jack Rodosevich - Pueblo Chieftain - April 20, 2000 - Jack Rodosevich, age 78, passed away April 18, 2000. Survived by his wife, Mona M. Rodosevich; and his daughters, Nancy Rodosevich, Pueblo, Theresa (Michael) Hawker and Judy (Dennis) Edmundson, both of Colorado Springs. Grandfather of Nathan Edmundson and Christina and Jake Hawker. Mr. Rodosevich is survived by brothers, Anthony and Albert Rodosevich; and sister, Mary (Frank) Petrucci, all of Denver. He was preceded in death by brothers, John, Joe and Frank Rodosevich, and sister, Katherine Rodosevich. Mr. Rodosevich served with the U.S. Army during World War II. Henry Rodrigues - Pueblo Chieftain - April 10, 2005 - Henry Rodrigues, 71, on April 5, 2005, left this world to be with his beloved wife, Mary Ellen, who passed away Feb. 3, 2005. Survived by siblings, Dolores Pimento of Kaneohe, Hawaii, Joseph Rodrigues of Tacoma, Wash., Jerome Rodrigues of Tulare, Calif., James Rodrigues of Waianae, Hawaii, Juliet Rodriguez of Elk Grove, Calif., and Melvin Rodrigues of Roseburg, Ore.; numerous nieces and nephews including Brenda Thayer and Roberta Luke, both of Dillsboro, Ind.; and several close friends. Henry was born to Henry and Evelyn Rodrigues on June 5, 1933, in Hamakuapoko, Maui, Hawaii. Huerfano World - Tragedy - July 9, 1998 - A Pueblo family's camping trip near Gardner turned to tragedy early Sunday morning when former Huerfano Lorraine Barela, 45, her daughter, Jamie Bobian, 10 and a granddaughter, Alysa Rodriguez, 5 were found dead of apparent carbon monoxide poisoning, according to the coroner's office. Jamie's father, Bernard Bobian, 36, was found alive at the same site and flown by Flight for Life from Huerfano Medical Center to Colorado Springs. He is also a former Huerfano and is reported in good condition. Sheriff John Salazar said Deputies Paul Zudar, Dave McCain and Robert Pacheco answered a call to the scene about 7 a.m. Sunday. The three bodies were discovered by Helen Montez, a sister of Bobian. He was rushed to Huerfano Medical Center.

Anselmo Feliverto "Bert" Rodriguez - Huerfano World - December 2, 1993 - Anselmo Feliverto (Bert) Rodriguez, 97, of Olathe, formerly of Walsenburg, died Monday, Nov. 22, 1993 in the Colorow [sic] Care Center where he was a patient. Born in Redwing July 12, 1896, he lived most of his life in Huerfano County, working in the coal mines. Survivors include a son, Fermin, Denver; a daughter, Patricia Finn, Montrose; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His wife, Clara died in January, 1988. Funeral mass was Saturday from St. Mary Church in Walsenburg. Burial was in North St. Mary Cemetery. Boies Almont was in charge arrangements.

Antonio Gaspar Rodriguez - Pueblo Chieftain - February 26, 1998 - Antonio Gaspar Rodriguez, 52, of Mount Vernon, Wash., formerly of Pueblo, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998, unexpectedly, due to sudden illness. Born on Dec. 17, 1945, in Pueblo, he recently retired from the federal government, Seattle, Wash. He graduated from East High School and University of Washington. A member of the Mount Vernon School Board, American GI Forum and supporter of United Farm Workers, he was also a talented musician who performed with partner, Dundas Winn as Los Trovadores for charitable and private functions. Preceded in death by father, Jasper Rodriguez- brother, Joseph F. Rodriguez- nephew, Ross Patrick- and brother-in-law, Gordon Sund. Beloved husband and father, he is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen- son, Eric- and daughter, Sara- mother, Matilda Rodriguez- sisters, Mary Wosnig, Isabel (Willie) Duran of Pueblo and Martha Rodriguez of St. Louis, Mo.- sister-in-law, Esther Rodriguez of Pueblo, Judy Sund of Yacolt, Wash., and Jackie Kircus of Pasadena, Texas. Dennis Rodriguez - Pueblo Chieftain - March 29, 2000 - Dennis Rodriguez, 43, passed away March 25, 2000. A lifetime resident, he was born April 15, 1956, in Walsenburg. He served in the U.S. Navy for over 18 years and was a gunner's mate on board the USS New Jersey and USS Missouri, serving in the Gulf War. Among his decorations were Battle "E" Ribbon, Combat Action Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Expert Pistol/Rifle Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze Star, Kuwait Liberation Medal and others. Before her illness and caring for her husband, Flora was a very active member of Mount Carmel Catholic Church where she served as a liturgist, eucharistic minister, parish council member, was in the choir and many of the parish societies. She also was the cook in many of the parish youth retreats. Flora was a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society and Cursillo, Legion of Mary, Search and District Council of Catholic Women, where she was past treasurer for the organization. Preceded in death by sister, Debbie; niece, Tara; and grandparents, Esteban and Lina Rodriguez, Sam and Elis Baca. Survived by parents, Steve and Jennie Rodriguez; children, Marsha (Salas), Regina (Shea), T.J., A.J. and Juanita Rodriguez; grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathon, Eric, David, Ernesto, Hannah and Gabriel. He served in the U.S. Navy for 12 years before returning to Pueblo, where he earned his bachelor's degree from USC in 1984. Joseph Ortega Rodriguez – Pueblo Chieftain – August 11, 2006 - Joseph Ortega Rodriguez, 30, departed this life unexpectedly on Aug. 9, 2006. A lifetime Puebloan, he was born June 29, 1976, to Sue Anne Ortega Rodriguez and Paul Rodriguez. “JoJo,” as he was known to family and friends, was always full of happiness and being with his family on outdoor events and functions. He also enjoyed wrestling matches on television. Mr. Rodriguez retired from the CF&I Steel Corp. rail mill department in _ 1971 with 21 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Dionicia Rodriguez, and daughters, Mary Jane Aaron of Salt Lake City and Inez Rodriguez of Pueblo. His grandson, Bryan Aaron, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Rodriguez had been a Pueblo resident since 1951 and was formerly a coal miner in Dawson, N.M. Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Church. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery. Huerfano World - May 27, 1999 - Girl Dies - A 14 year old Walsenburg girl, Leticia Rodriguez, died May 20, 1999 of injuries received in La Veta after falling from the back of a pickup truck. Born June 30, 1984, in Walsenburg to Felipe and Soledad Yanez Rodriguez, she was a student in La Veta, active in volleyball and cheerleading. She recently graduated from the eight grade. The accident occurred at 5:10 p.m. La Veta schools had let out for the day and many of the students became involved in throwing water balloons at each other. According to a report, many of the students were riding in vehicles while others were on the sidewalk throwing balloons at the students in the vehicles. Paul Zudar, Huerfano County Sheriff's sergeant, said Ms. Rodriguez was riding alone in the back of a pickup. The mishap occurred on Main Street in La Veta. The report says, according to witnesses, "the driver swerved and caused the girl to lose her balance." According to the autopsy, Ms. Rodriquez died of a fractured skull and broken neck. The sheriff's report is still ongoing but will be turned to the district attorney's office who will discuss possible charges against the driver. Ms. Rodriquez, a member of Christ the King Church, is survived by her parents, Felipe and Soledad, Walsenburg; brother and sisters, Adan Rodriguez and Manuel Rodriguez, Pueblo, Eva Rodriguez and Felipe Rodriguez, Jr., Walsenburg, Gabe Rodriguez, La Juanta; grandparents, Arcadia "Calla" Yanez and Simon Rodriquez, Chihuahua, Mexico; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, some from Mexico. M. E. “Rod” Rodriguez – Huerfano World – February 2, 2006 – M. E. “Rod” Rodriguez, 78, died at his home in Rocky Ford Friday, Jan. 20. Mr. Rodriguez was born May 8, 1927 in La Veta and had lived in Rocky Ford for many years. He married Hope Berumen on August 23, 1958 and she died Dec. 31, 1998. He worked at Pueblo Army Depot over 35 years and had been a councilor at Colorado Boys Ranch. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He is survived by sons, Michael (Lisa) Rodriguez of Oceanside, CA, and James Rodriguez of Rocky Ford; daughters, Beverly Rodriguez of Rocky Ford and Susan (Keith) Varner of Walsenburg; eight grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Brothers Ruben (Delores) Rodriguez of Pueblo and Joe Leroy (Margaret) Rodriguez of Walsenburg; and sisters Dora Quintana of La Veta; Erma (Al) Barison of Klamath Falls, OR; and Elsie (Gordon) Rudell of Lincoln Park, MI. Mike C. Rodriguez - Pueblo Chieftain - November 16, 2004 - Mike C. Rodriguez, 88, passed away on Nov. 13, 2004. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary T. Rodriguez, parents Cruz and Mike Rodriguez and brothers and sisters. Survived by sister Hope Natividad, son Michael E. Rodriguez, daughters Mary Lou (Joe) Martinez, Pam (Richard) Natividad, Mary Jane (Frank) Ochoa, Suzanne (John) Igliou, Louise Hill. Also survived by 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was born on June 29, 1916 in El Paso, TX and was a long time resident of Pueblo. He retired from the Pueblo Army Depot in 1981. Mike served as secretary on the Board for SER from1972- 1976. Thomas Enos Rodriguez - Denver Rocky Mountain News - August 16, 1999 - Thomas Enos Rodriguez, 86, of Littleton died Aug. 8. Services were Aug. 12, with burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Rodriguez was born in Red Wing on May 20, 1913. He married Mary F. Meder, 1943. He was a ranch foreman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and horseback riding. He retired from CF&I after 32 years of working in the 14 inch wire mill. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Maria Quadalupe "Lupe" Rodriguez, who departed this life on April 23, 1990. Mrs. Rodriguez is survived by her husband, Joe Rodriguez, of the family home; 12 children, Joe (Pauline) Martinez of Washington, Mary "Socorro" (Richard) Berger of Minnesota, Judy (George) Pettit of Michigan, Arthur (Jenny) Rodriguez, Mike (Priscilla) Rodriguez, Joe "Chato” Rodriguez, Paul Rodriguez, John Rodriguez, Charlie Rodriguez, Emily Rodriguez, Raymond Rodriguez, Fred Rodriguez, all of Pueblo; 34 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by three sisters, Delores (Thomas) Valdvieza, Juanita (Roman) Baldilles, Lucy (Graziano) Medina; two brothers, Cruz Villegas, Nash (Mary) Villegas, all of Pueblo; and numerous relatives and friends. Mrs. Rodriguez was preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Josephine Villegas; and two brothers, Alfonso and Carmen Villegas. She was born on May 31, 1922, in Avondale, Colo., and was a lifelong resident of Pueblo. Mrs. Rodriguez was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Visitation hours from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. today at Imperial Funeral Home. Rosary recitation at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 1987, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, with Father Robert L. Sullivan officiating. Interment, Faith, Imperial Memorial Gardens. Willie Rodriguez - Pueblo Chieftain - August 30, 2000 - Willie Rodriguez, 87, of Pueblo, passed away Aug. 28, 2000. Born Nov. 22, 1912. Preceded in death by wife, Josephine Rodriguez. Also preceded in death by parents, Adolfo and Ignacita Rodriguez; sons, Adolfo Rodriguez (infant) and Anthony Willie Rodriguez; three brothers, Delfino Rodriguez, Roberto Rodriguez and Felipe Rodriguez; and one sister, Bertha Madrid. Survived by his children, Wilbert Adolfo Rodriguez of Pueblo and Jo Ann Rodriguez of Pueblo; grandchildren, Christine (Tom) Martinez, Donna (Israel) Iniguez, Denise (Armando) Narcisio, David Anthony Rodriguez, Ricky Rodriguez, Steve Rodriguez and Jackie (Tim) Trujillo; 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Ernest Sandoval, Frank Sandoval and Cornelio Madrid; and his very dear, special friend Walter Trujillo. Willie enjoyed the Rockies and Broncos games, word-search puzzles, fishing and the outdoors. Viewing, 1 to 6 p.m. today at Romero Chapel. Javier Rodriguez-Baeza - Pueblo Chieftain - February 11, 1999 - Javier Rodriguez-Baeza, 41, of Pueblo, passed away Feb. 6, 1999, a result of an automobile accident. Mr. Rodriguez was born Nov. 14, 1957, in St. Barbara Chihuahua, Mexico, to the union of Jose and Maria Baeza-Rodriguez. His father precedes him in death- also, stepson, Robert Arellano, April 11, 1998. Javier worked for AAA Roofing Co. of Pueblo. To his co-workers, he was well respected as one who understood and worked side by side with his crew. His hobbies were listening to his tapes and taking his wife dancing. Survived by his beloved wife, Juanita Manzanares-Rodriguez, Pueblo- his mother, Maria Baeza de Rodriguez, Mexico- two sons, Jeremy and Gerald Rodriguez- five stepchildren, Angie Arellano, Marlyn Martinez, Crystal, Carlos and Eric Ponce, all of Pueblo- siblings, Juan Rodriguez-Baeza, Fort Worth, Texas, Reyes Rodriguez-Contreras, Natividad Rodriguez-Baeza, Manuel Rodriguez-Baeza, Jose Rodriguez-Baeza, Eustorgio Rodriguez-Baeza, all of Chihuahua, Mexico- Ventura Rodriguez-Baeza, Fort Worth, Texas. Also survived by father and mother-in-law, Juan and Angie Manzanares of Pueblo- numerous other relatives and friends. Survived by one son, Mike of Pueblo; four daughters, Catherine Gutierrez of Los Angeles, Nellie Reyes and Connie Bland, both of Manzanola, and Hope Natividad of Rocky Ford. Arrangements later.
Frederick Rodriquez - Huerfano Cactus - June 22 1926 - 10 Year Old Boy Crushed to Death Here Last Night - As a result of injuries he received when a freight train struck him at 7:15 last night near the local C & S water tank, Frederick Rodriquez, 10 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lucas Rodriquez of West Eighth street, died last night at 11 o'clock at the Lamme Hospital. The boy was running along the top of the moving freight train when his foot slipped and he fell between the cars and was run over. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, but physicians were unable to do much to relieve his suffering as his body and legs were badly crushed. The father of the boy is employee at the Cameron mine. The date for the funeral has not yet been set. Huerfano Cactus Vol. XVII NO 57.

Mr. Rodriquez was born, raised and passed away on the family ranch near Gardner. He was a County Commissioner for 20 years in Huerfano County and a fulltime rancher. Pilar Cortez Rodriquez - Pueblo Chieftain - July 09, 2000 - Pilar Cortez Rodriguez (Joe Friday), born Oct. 12, 1916, died July 6, 2000. Preceded in death by father, Jose Isaac Rodriguez; mother, Nieves Cortez Rodriguez; and sisters, Rufina Carrillo and Frances Resendez. Leaving behind his wife of 58 years, Lorene; son, John Rodriguez; daughters, Viola Knauss and Dolores (Sonny) Hernandez, all of Pueblo, and Rosie (Elias) Mendez of Federal Heights, Colo.; grandchildren, Shanda White, Jessica (Gregory) Dierksen, Jonathan Knauss, Jose and Samantha Hernandez of Pueblo, Brandon and Kimberly Gonzales of Federal Heights, Colo., and Carlos (Jennifer) Gonzales of Lakewood, Colo.; and great-grandchildren, Ryan and Tristian J. Dierksen, Lorina, Jordan and Elisa White, all of Pueblo, and Celena, Tiffany and Nikki Gonzales of Lakewood, Colo. Retired from the CF&I after 39 years in 1978. Served in the U.S. Army in World War II from 1942-1945. Was aboard the USS West Point and was overseas 35 months. Mr. Rodriguez loved to take care of his lawn and yard and playing with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his stories about growing up and his jokes and especially his kind heart and generosity. He also leaves behind other relatives and friends.
