Dincler, Jeanette P.
Jeanette P. Dincler - Pueblo Chieftain - April 13, 2005 - Jeanette P. Dincler, 92, passed away April 10, 2005. Survived by her daughter, Dr. Sharon D. Sweet; granddaughter, Anastasia Mavra Sweet; great-granddaughter, Celeste Sweet-Hayes; cousin, Melba Park Dixon; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Preceded in death by her husband, Charlie "Carl" Dincler on Oct. 7, 1999; son-in-law, Jonathan Singleton Copley Sweet; and siblings, William Muir Park, Thomas Dockerty Park, John Coates Park, Robert Park, Margaret Eve Baugher, James Grant Park and George Park. Jeanette was born to Susan and John Coates Park on March 31, 1913, in Birmingham, Ala. She and Carl married on May 8, 1947, in Newport, Ky. Jeanette and Carl owned and operated Dincler's Fabrics which was world known for their quality stage curtains and locally for their fabric store. She was a founder of the Parkview Hospital gift shop where she volunteered until her health no longer allowed. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and PEO, Chapter F. She will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. Private entombment. Memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2005, at First Presbyterian Church, 10th and Court, with the Rev. Dr. Brad Munroe officiating. Those who desire may make memorials to First Presbyterian Church through the funeral home.

Diodosio, Briana Denae
Briana Denae Diodosio - Pueblo Chieftain - November 05, 1999 - Briana Denae Diodosio, 20, passed away Nov. 4, 1999. Survived by her children, Tierra Diodosio and Lena Ernestina Garcia Diodosio; and parents, Joseph M. and Roseann Diodosio, all of Pueblo. Preceded in death by her brother, Lonnie McCoy. Also survived by numerous extended family members. Cremation, Almont Crematory. Memorial service, Saturday, 10 a.m., George McCarthy Historic Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to a fund to benefit Tierra and Lena, children of Brianna.

Diodosio, Rose Ann
Rose Ann Diodosio - Pueblo Chieftain - January 13, 2002 - Age 53, passed away Jan. 11, 2002, in Pueblo. Preceded in death by son, Lonnie McCoy; daughter, Briana Diodosio; father, John Snarich; brother, Kenny Snarich; and nephews, J.J. Snarich and Derion Gomez-Amendola. Survived by loving husband of 27 years, Joe Diodosio; mother, Margaret Snarich; granddaughters, Tierra Diodosio, Lena Diodosio and Lisa McCoy; brother, John (Barb) Snarich; sisters, Carol (Richard) Hart, Peggy (Scott) Thomas, Donna (R.C.) White, Jeanette Snarich, Jackie Snarich and Mary Lou (Ronald) Russell; sisters-in-law, Darlene Snarich and Sara (Joe) Frese; brothers-in-law, Ron (Cathy) Diodosio and Mike Diodosio; and mother-in-law, Josephine Diodosio. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Rosie enjoyed dancing and listening to the music of Michael Jackson. Each Halloween, Rosie dressed as a witch and enjoyed going to costume parties. Rosie also enjoyed spending time with her beloved granddaughters and was expecting her first great-granddaughter in March. Rosie was loved by many and will be greatly missed. She spread her wings and prepared to fly, she's become a butterfly. Memorial Mass, 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. The family will greet friends in the reception hall following the Mass. Eunice Dionese - Pueblo Chieftain - December 12, 2004 - Eunice Dionese, 87, born June 8, 1918, passed away Dec. 10, 2004. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Tuffy" Dionese; brothers, Mike Bosco, John Bosco; sisters, Jeannie Chiesi Lubich, Josephine Borrelli, Alma Hatcher, Catherine Bensic. Survived by her son, Charles (Rosann) Dionese; and granddaughter, Sherry (Alfred) Alvares; great-grandchildren, Joe, Kita and Sam Alvares. Also survived by her sisters, Mary Borrelli and Louise (Rex) Rector; sister-in-law, Opal "Pinky" Bosco. At her request immediate cremation and no services. Barbara Jean Dionisio - Pueblo Chieftain - November 30, 2006 - Barbara Jean Dionisio, (Harbour), 60, of Pueblo, Colo., born June 3, 1946, in Crowley, Colo., entered into eternal peace on Nov. 28, 2006, following a courageous and dignified life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delton and Opal Harbour; father and mother-in-law, Russell and Angelina Dionisio; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Clementi. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Russell L. Dionisio Sr.; children, Rhonda Dionisio (Scott Brazil), RoxAnn (Lance) Fillmore, Russell (Stacy) Dionisio Jr., Antonio (Trish) Dionisio; grandchildren, Rustyn and Josh Fillmore, Joey and Angie Andenucio, Zachary, Brittany and Katie Dionisio, Sammy Joe Tarvella, Blaine and Brock Dionisio; siblings, Mary Alice (George) Reynolds, Vesta Mae (Melvin) Provost, Velma (Mike) Rinks, Delton (Helen) Harbour Jr.; brother-in-law, Charles (Pat) Dionisio; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Bragg; and numerous nieces, nephews and close relatives and friends. Known to most as Aunt Barbs or Nannie, she lived her life with care and concern for all, and served a purpose in every life she touched. She loved her yard, gardening, fishing, cooking, baking, crafts and her cabin in San Isabel, and most of all spending time and providing a loving home for everyone. Survived by husband, Victor Dionisio- children, Vicki (Ralph) Turano, Arvada, Toni (Gary) Ramstetter, Alamosa, Roberta Dionisio, Lakewood, Victor J. "V.J." (Connie)Dionisio, Littleton- five grandchildren, Clinton and Jason Ramstetter, Brad Turano, and Lyndsay and Nicolas Dionisio. Her surviving sisters are Lillian (Nick) Spera and Ann Stefano of Pueblo- as well as a brother, Carmel Spicola, Trinidad- sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Sam Vinci, Jack and Lucille Dionisio, Mary Jane and Chuck Cortese, all of Pueblo, Joe and Evelyn Dionisio, Trinidad, and Margaret Spicola, Raton, N.M. Leonard C. Dionisio - Pueblo Chieftain - July 13, 2004 - Leonard C. Dionisio, 80, born March 9, 1924, passed away July 11, 2004, after a brief illness. Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carmella Dionisio; and children, Leonard (Teryle) Dionisio Jr., Norman Okla., and Jim (Jenny) Dionisio, Tulsa, Okla.; grandfather of Michael (Lisa) Dionisio, Annandale, Va., Anthony (Kim) Dionisio, Tulsa, Okla., Dr. Paula (Brandon Johnson) Dionisio, Phoenix, Ariz., Timothy Dionisio, Evanston, Ill., Jacob Dionisio, Laramie, Wyo., Gina (David) Shields, Jacksonville, N.C., and Lisa Dionisio, Houston, Texas. Also survived by three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his brother, Carl Dionisio. Leonard was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp and was retired from the CF&I Steel Corp. after 40 years of service. He belonged to many fraternal organizations. The main focus of his life was his family and he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid golfer and bowler. Thomas Anthony Dionisio - Pueblo Chieftain - February 23, 2001 - Age 58, passed away Feb.. 21, 2001. Survived by his wife, Paula J. Dionisio of the family home; children, Stephanie Dionisio, Valerie (Mark) Rosen, Melissa (Dan) Palumbo and Jessica Dionisio; sister, Anna Marie (Tom) Giodone; sister-in-law, Pat Patterson; mother-in-law, Dorothy Colby; grandchild, Dominick Palumbo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Tomasina Dionisio, and beloved brother, Jack Dionisio. Thomas was born Dec. 11, 1942, in Pueblo, and was a well-known farmer of the Pueblo area. Victor R. Dionisio - Pueblo Chieftain - October 05, 2005 - Victor R. Dionisio, 86, born Oct. 4, 1918, passed away Oct. 2, 2005. Survived by his children, Vicki (Ralph) Turano, Toni (Gary) Ramstetter, Roberta Dionisio and V.J. (Connie) Dionisio; grandchildren, Clint Ramstetter, Jason Ramstetter, Brad Turano, Lyndsay Dionisio and Nicolas Dionisio. Also survived by his brothers, Jack (Lucille) Dionisio and Joe (Evelyn) Dionisio; sisters, Ann (Sam) Vinci and Mary Jane (Chuck) Cortese; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Katherine; and grandson, Brian Turano. Victor was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. A resident of Pueblo for 60 years. Preceded in death by husband, Tony DiPalma; mother; father; five sisters; and one brother. She is survived by niece, Marion Doty, Pueblo; stepdaughter, Elizabeth LaTronica; stepson-in-law, Vito LaTronica; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and numerous special friends and neighbors. Annette Clara DiPietro - Pueblo Chieftain - April 24, 2001 - Annette Clara DiPietro, 59, passed away April 21, 2001, after a lengthy illness. Born April 22, 1941, in Pueblo, Colo., to James C. and Pauline Cardinal. Survived by her two sons, Joseph Anthony DiPietro and Robert Louis (Susan M.) DiPietro, all of Pueblo; grandson, Anthony Shuler-Cordova; sister-in-law, Josephine Carleo, Pueblo; brother-in-law, Dr. Henry M. DiPietro, Greeley, Colo.; and nieces and nephews, Michael (Cheryl) Carleo, Fort Worth, Texas, Anthony Charles DiPietro and Christen Rae DiPietro, both of Hollywood, Calif., Mary Beth Torres, Pueblo; great-nephew, Christian Jordan Torres and numerous cousins. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 33 years, Peter Anthony DiPietro, on June 25, 2000; parents, James C. and Pauline Cardinal; a niece, Susan Ann Carleo. Annette was employed by First National Bank until 1968. She was a member of the Colorado XI Master, also known as Beta Sigma Phi Sorority Group, and Our Lady of the Meadows Catholic Church. DiPietro, Peter A.
Peter A. DiPietro - Pueblo Chieftain - June 28, 2000 - Peter A. DiPietro, born Jan. 11, 1930, in Tooele, Utah, passed away June 25, 2000, in Pueblo, Colo. Mr. DiPietro is survived by his wife, Annette Clara Cardinal DiPietro; and two sons, Joseph Anthony DiPietro and Robert Louis (Susan M.) DiPietro, all of Pueblo; as well as grandson, Anthony Shuler-Cordova. He is also survived by sister, Josephine Carleo, Pueblo; and brother, Henry M. DiPietro, Greeley, Colo.; as well as nieces and nephews, Mary Beth Torres, Pueblo, Christen Rae DiPietro and Anthony Charles DiPietro of Hollywood, Calif., Michael (Cheryl) Carleo, Fort Worth, Texas; and great-nephew, Christian Jordan Torres, Pueblo, Colo. Preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Connie DiPietro; and a niece, Susan Ann Carleo. Mr. DiPietro was employed in construction as a carpenter for 20 years, with H.W. Houston, H.E. Whitlock and Robert E. McKee Construction companies, working on many major buildings in Pueblo and outside of Pueblo. He left the construction business and went to work for School District #60 as a maintenance carpenter until his retirement in 1992. Mr. DiPietro was a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society and Our Lady of the Meadows Catholic Church where he served as a minister of the Eucharist and of Hospitality. He was also a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church parish where services will be held. Rosary, Thursday, 7 p.m., Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, 10 a.m. Entombment, Roselawn Mausoleum. Lena DiPrince - Pueblo Chieftain - February 27, 2002 - Age 84, born Sept. 2, 1917, passed away Feb. 25, 2002. Mrs. DiPrince was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph D. DiPrince, in 1980; and sister, Argie Caporicci. She is survived by her sons, Ralph (Linda) DiPrince, Pueblo, and Don (Karyl) DiPrince of La Junta. Grandmother of D.C. and John Paul DiPrince, Dawn (Chris Markuson) DiPrince, Chad DiPrince and Liz DiPrince. Great-grandmother of Max and Sophie. Also survived by sisters, Ida Musso, Esther DiTomaso and Ann Musso; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing, noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. DiRito, Bennie R.
Bennie R. DiRito - Pueblo Chieftain - May 24, 2000 - Bennie R. DiRito of Canon City passed away May 19, 2000. He was born in Chandler, Colo., on Oct. 27, 1922, to Ben and Rose (Lippis) DiRito. He was co-owner of the New Music Company. In 1948, he married Vita Lee Salardino, who survives. Also survived by children, David (Vickie) DiRito, Pamela (Jack) Laughlin and Vivian (Kent) Jeffcoat; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and seven brothers and sisters. Preceded in death by his parents, a nephew and sister-in-law. Mass of the Resurrection celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Father James King officiating. Interment at Lakeside Cemetery with military honors.

Dirkes, Tracy Ellen
Tracy Ellen Dirkes - Pueblo Chieftain - December 16, 2004 - Tracy Ellen Dirkes, 47, Pueblo, died Dec. 9, 2004. She was born June 7, 1957, in Fairfax, Va. She is survived by her husband, Terry; and stepson, Chad, of Pueblo; her mother, Jessie Patrick; and father, Ian (Pam) Patrick; a brother, Daryl Long; sisters, Sterling (Mark) Creager; and Susan Huntington Long; and grandmother, Elanor (Doyle) Melugin; and three nieces and a nephew. Tracy graduated with honors in history and English from Centaurus High School, Lafayette, Colo., and attended the Fort Benjamin Harris Personnel School, U.S. Army. She was the secretary/treasurer of T&M Granite and Marble, and president and chief executive officer of Pueblo Tile. She was a member of the Latino Chamber of Commerce and served on the membership/marketing committee and special events committee, member of the Pueblo Association of Homebuilders, PAHB-Women's Council secretary, and was a member of the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce and served on the Chili & Frijole Festival, Business Expo and served as a State Fair Parade float judge. She was a member of FOE 145 Ladies Auxiliary. She believed in giving to her community and her company made many donations such as the Riverwalk plaque, the sign for Sangre de Cristo Hospice, the Beulah Theatre plaques and the annual dinner dance awards to name a few. She was a great lover of animals and she especially loved being with friends and family. Her infectious smile and positive attitude will be cherished forever and she truly will be missed. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at the Romero Family Funeral Chapel in Pueblo. A reception will follow.

Faustina Amelia 'Tina' Dirksen - Great Falls Tribune – February 6, 2005 – Great Falls, Montana - Faustina Amelia 'Tina' (Mascarenas) Dirksen, 83, of 1420 9th St. S., a retired nurses' aid and homemaker, died of natural causes Thursday at her home. Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday until the service time at Croxford Funeral Home and Crematory. A vigil service is 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Her funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Croxford Rose Room, with cremation to follow the service. Survivors include daughters Vera Smereck and her husband, Jim, and Roselinda "Tiny" Paulson; a son, Alvino "Vinnie" Salazar, all of Great Falls; a sister, Priscilla and her husband, Ray Thorpe, of Englewood, Colo., and Patricia "Patty" Smith of Alamosa, Colo; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Tina was born May 28, 1921, in Monte Vista, Colo., and was raised and educated in Alamosa, Colo. She married Felix E. Salazar in 1939 in Walsenburg, Colo.; he died in 1956. She married Dan Dirksen in 1962; he died in 1970. Tina worked as a nurses' aid in Alamosa Community Hospital. She moved to Great Falls in 1973 to be by her daughters and son. Tina worked at Convalescent Hospital in Great Falls and was a member of the Senior Citizens Center. Tina had a love of her doll collection and enjoyed cooking, especially her fried potatoes and chili. Being very independent, she would get into her car and go shopping. Lois Dirrim - Pueblo Chieftain - April 17, 2001 - Lois Dirrim, passed away following surgery on April 14, 2001. She was born to Merlin and Ethel Miller in Fremont, Neb., on March 23, 1927. Lois graduated from Fremont High School in 1944. She attended business college in Omaha and worked at the Mead Government Arsenal during the war years. She later worked as a legal secretary and part-time court reporter until 1950, when she married Lysle R. Dirrim and moved to Denver, Colo. They moved to Brighton, Colo., in 1953 where her husband was in the practice of law until 2000. Lois worked as an executive secretary for the Bureau of Mines and later as secretary for South Elementary in Brighton until 1970 when she retired to raise her children. She moved with her husband to Pueblo West, in the fall of 2000. She is survived by her husband; children Lysle G. (Luann) Dirrim of Montrose, Colo., David Dirrim, Colo., Roger (Julie) of Brighton, Colo. and Ann (Tom) Chinnock of Loveland, Colo.; and five granddaughters. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Private family services will be held. Viola Bell DiSalvo - Huerfano World - December 11, 2003 - Viola Bell DiSalvo went to be with the Lord Dec. 3, 2002. Viola was born on March 3, 1913 in Aguilar. Viola was Preceded in death by husband, Sam DiSalvo; son, Ben DiSalvo; and daughters, Betty Jean DiSalvo and Louise Hanson. She is survived by daughter, Eileen (James) Poole, North Carolina, Marlene West, Littleton; and Dino DiSalvo, Walsenburg; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; four sisters, Mabel Murdock, Elva Puckett, Jewel Browning; Washington; and Ethel (Delbert ) Greenland, Arizona; and brothers, Lester Herlyck, California, and Arthur (Johnnie) Herlyck, Pueblo. Viola and Sam DiSalvo moved to Walsenburg in 1976. Sam retired from the CF&I and Viola retired from Colorado State Hospital. Viola was active in the Prairie Rangers Club, AARP club, attended the Mennonite Church. Later she was baptized in the Calvary Baptist Church. She had a passion for reading and loved to share her found knowledge. Viola shared her gifts of life with all who sought to befriend her. She loved all and held no judgment. The love and kindness she bestowed upon others drifted back in blessings upon her. Viola will be cherished and missed by all.

Barbara Louise DiSanti - Pueblo Chieftain - October 17, 2002 - Barbara Louise DiSanti, 65, born Oct. 12, 1937, went to be with the Lord Oct. 14, 2002. Graduated from Pueblo County High School in 1955. Preceded in death by her mother, Edith Stewart; and stepfather, L.M. Stewart; mother-in-law, Vera Rose DiSanti; uncles, Guy Potter and Ernest Potter. Barbara is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ed DiSanti of the family home; sons, Randy (Trish) DiSanti of Pueblo and Rusty (Arleen) DiSanti of Pueblo West; grandchildren, Britani, Colton and Kelsie and an unborn grandchild; Godchild, Domenic DiSanti; and her cocker spaniel "Max." Also survived by her brothers, John (Charlotte) Stewart, John Miller, both of Illinois, and Ed (Sandi) Miller of Arkansas; special friends, Albert and Clara Torri and Al Lundberg, all of Pueblo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Barbara will be remembered for always offering a helping hand to anyone in need and her Sunday dinners of spaghetti and pizza with her family. Carmen Charles DiSanti Jr. - Pueblo Chieftain - May 21, 2002 - Carmen Charles DiSanti Jr., lifetime Pueblo resident, born June 21, 1943, passed away May 20, 2002. He is preceded in death by his father, Carmen C. DiSanti Sr., Nov. 30, 1972. Carmen is survived by his son, Vincent Paul DiSanti; mother, Teresa Rose DiSanti, both of Pueblo; sisters, Mary Ann (John) Henry, of Pennsylvania and Lorraine Refice, of Pueblo. Also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Carmen graduated from Pueblo County High School in 1962. He served in the U.S. Air Force after graduating from high school, then went on to Southern Colorado University, aka “USC.” He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Carmen was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in his yard. He was a lover of animals, especially his dogs. Charles E. Disert – Huerfano World – April 29, 2004 - Charles E. Disert, 94, a resident of San Lorenzo, NM, passed away Friday, Apr. 16, 2004 at Gila Region- al Medical Center. Memorial service was Apr. 24, 2004 at Baca's Funeral Chapels, with The Rev. Mr. Mike Lavelle officiating. Masonic service was conducted by Jason Hamilton. Mr. Disert was born Dec. 7, 1909, in Colorado Springs, to Edgar and Grace (Overcash) Disert. He ranched in La Veta from 1950 to 1973. He then moved to New Mexico. He was a rancher, having owned the D-Diamond Ranch before selling it to The Nature Conservancy. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with Mimbres Masonic Lodge No. 10, A.F. and A.M. Mr. Disert married Charlena Crandell on Dec. 18, 1948, in St. Paul, MN. He always enjoyed working his cattle. Mr. Disert is survived by his wife, Charlena, of the home; his children, all graduates of La Veta High School; including, his son, Michael (Gladys) of San Lorenzo, NM; daughters, Donna Curtis- Hayward, Parker and Dee Ann (Steven) Lucks, Idaho Falls, ID; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, friends and neighbors. Mr. Disert was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Lynn Jones "Dick" Diss - Pueblo Chieftain - July 29, 1999 - Lynn Jones "Dick" Diss went to be with the Lord on July 21, 1999. He was born on Oct. 5, 1925, in Kinmundy, Ill. In 1927, his family moved to the San Luis Valley. He accepted the Lord as his personal savior as a young child. Lynn entered the U.S. Navy in 1944 and was honorably discharged in 1946. Lynn graduated from Adams State College with Bachelors and Masters degrees in education. Lynn taught industrial arts and drivers' education in Center. He took an early medical retirement from teaching because of his diabetes. Lynn married Phyllis "Evelyn" Bell in 1950 and there were five children born to this union- an infant son, Carolyn (Diss) Hiner, David Diss, Mark Diss, Janet(Diss) Seierstad. After Evelyn's death in 1969, he married Fay Foote in 1970and added three children to his family, Mark Foote, David Foote and Karen(Foote) Carter. Lynn's home church was the First Baptist Church of Hooper. He was also a member of Park Hill Baptist Church in Pueblo. Lynn was receded in death by his parents- his wife, Phyllis "Evelyn" Bell- two brothers, Russell Diss and Jack Diss- his sister, Irene Diss Walker, and Baby Diss, an infant son. He is survived by his wife, Fay Diss- his children- sons and daughters-in-law- grandchildren- brother, Bill Diss- and many other family members and friends. The funeral service is at the First Baptist Church, Hooper, Colo., on Thursday, July 29, 1999, at 10 a.m. with interment followingat the Monte Vista Cemetery. Sister Theresa Dissler - The Kansas City Star - September 04, 1996 - Sister Theresa Dissler, 74, Atchison, KS, died September 2, 1996, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, MO. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 4 p.m. Friday, September 6, at St. Scholastica Chapel. Visitation will begin 1:30 p.m. Thursday, at Dooley Center, and there will be a vigil service at 7 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be in the sisters' cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Benedictine Sisters, Mount St. Scholastica. The daughter of Virginia and Adolph Dissler, Theresa Marie was born July 15, 1922, in Walsenburg, CO. She attended the parish school at St. Mary's in Walsenburg, and was a graduate of Mount St. Scholastica College. Before joining the Benedictine Sisters in 1949, she served in the United States Navy Reserve. She made her monastic profession August 10, 1950. In her earlier years as a Benedictine, she was known as Sister De Porres. She pursued further studies at the University of Notre Dame, where she earned a Master's in Spanish; at the Catholic University in Washington, D.C. for library science; and in Spain and Mexico for Spanish. Sister Theresa, a Benedictine educator in Kansas, except for one year in Iowa and one in Nebraska, spent eight years in Seneca. Her other assignments included being on the staff of Mount St. Scholastica Academy, Maur Hill Prep School, and Benedictine College, where she taught Spanish and served as librarian until 1989. She was subprioress of the Mount St. Scholastica religious community from 1982 to 1988. Her most recent assignment was as librarian for the monastic community. Mildred was born on Nov. 29, 1916, at Manassa, Colo., a daughter of the late David and Susan Mary Wisler Wilson Sr. She married Robert Earl Ditmore on Aug. 22, 1937, at Alamosa, Colo.; he preceded her in death on March 6, 1991. Mildred loved to hunt rocks with her husband. She was a devoted mother. Mildred is survived by three children, Wayne Ditmore of Monument, Colo., Cecil (Linda) Ditmore of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., and Claire Louise (Garth) Bundy of St. George, Utah; two sisters, Alice Janda of Alamosa, Colo., and Esther Bradley of Idaho; one brother, Arnold Wilson of Denver, Colo.; 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Esther is survived by her two sons, Leonard and Joseph DiTomaso of Pueblo; and daughter, Jeanne (Russell) McDonald of The Dalles, Ore. Grandchildren, Gary (Kim) DiTomaso and Dana DiTomaso, of Pueblo, Thomas McDonald of The Dalles, Ore., and Jeffrey (Wendy) McDonald of Portland, Ore. Great-grandchildren, Kayla and Kasey DiTomaso of Pueblo, Peyton and Melanie McDonald of Portland, Ore. Sisters, Ida Musso and Ann Musso of Pueblo. Mary M. Dixon - Huerfano World - March 1, 1990 - Mary M. Dixon, 80, of La Veta, died Monday, Feb. 26, 1990, at her home in La Veta. Born June 28, 1909, in Elk City, OK, to Jacob A. and Thirzy Ball Wagner, she married the late William C. Dixon in 1928. They moved to La Veta in April of 1960 where they owned and operated a ranch. After they sold their ranch they operated the Dixon Drive-inn in La Veta. Mrs. Dixon was an active member of the Baptist Church of La Veta, the Stitch & Chat, the B-Loyals and the AARP. Mrs. Dixon is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Webb, Lakewood and Barbara Gaskill, La Veta; three grandchildren; a sister, Leata Edge, Haskell, OK; a brother, Herman Wagner, Perryton, TX, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service was Wednesday from La Veta Baptist Church. Burial was in La Veta Cemetery. Boies Almont is in charge of arrangements.

Dixon, W. C.
W. C. Dixon - La Veta Signature - May 26, 1983 - Services were held Monday in La Veta for long-time county resident W. C. Dixon. Mr. Dixon was born May 31, 1908, in Anderson, South Carolina. He was one of six sons and two daughters born to William T. and Lula A. Dixon. He attended school in Anderson and at the age of 18 moved to Perryton, Texas where he worked as a wheat harvest hand. He married Mary Wagner on September 6, 1928 in Perryton. Born to this union were two sons who died in infancy and two daughters. In 1960, they moved to Colorado where they bought a ranch near La Veta. In 1964, they bought Dixon's Drive Inn and operated until 1973. After selling the Drive Inn he retired until 1978, when he began working for the Forest Service. He was employed with the Forest Service at the time of his death. In 1980, he received a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of continued diligent service in the Senior Community Services Employment program from the Forest Service. W. C. was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Greenwood, South Carolina and a member of the First Baptist Church in La Veta. Survivors include his wife, Mary W. Dixon of the family home, two daughters, Bonnie Kreutzer of Golden, CO and Barbara Gaskill of La Veta; four grandchildren, Brandi and Eric Kreutzer, Joe and [obituary cut off].

Anthony W. Dizonno - Pueblo Chieftain - March 26, 2003 - Anthony W. Dizonno, 79, went to be with the Lord on March 23, 2003. He was a member of VFW Post 7305, Lions, Eagles and St. Aloysius Catholic Church. He was a volunteer for the Pueblo Police Department. Anthony retired in 1976 from the Chicago Police Department after 31 years of loyal service. He is preceded in death by his sister, Winifred Chor; and his brother, Daniel. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary; his daughter, Antoinette Liebnow; brothers, Mike Dizonno and John (Celia) Dizonno; sisters, Mary Barrett and Yolanda (George) Beckwith; brother-in-law, Ralph Chor; sister-in-law, Ann (Lyle) Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Dizonno will lie in state from 5 to 8 p.m. today, at Adrian Comer Garden Chapel. The family will receive their friends at this time. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2003, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Rye. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Rye following the Mass. Walter Dlugopolski - Walsenburg World - May 6, 1930 - Pictou Man's Back Broken In Accident – Three Cars Pass Over Body; Fell Off Empty Trip – Inquest Tonight – Men Refuse to Go Back Into Mine After Fatal Mishap – Thrown off an empty trip he was riding, Walter Dlugopolski, 28 year old miner at Pictou, was crushed to death at 8:45 a.m. Monday under wheels of three other cars that passed over the body. Due to a double tragedy at Pictou last fall, men refused to go back into the entries for work after the accident. Grover Muir was killed at Pictou last fall and men went back to work, it was complained. Two hours later Thomas Beveridge, another Walsenburg boy was killed. Workers at the scene of the accident rushed Dlugopolski to the surface. He died shortly after reaching the surface. His back had been broken, both legs fractured and he was hurt internally, a post mortem examination showed. Inquest Tonight – Dr. W.S. Chapman, county coroner, and George C. Dalrymple, deputy state coal mine inspector, was summoned to the mine at once. After an investigation, Dr. Chapman announced that the customary inquest would be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Summoned as witnesses will be Dan Reese, Orson P. Bird, Ralph Guerrero, and Joe Howser. Funeral services for Dlugopolski will be held Thursday from the Catholic church, according to announcements today by the Unfug Peet Mortuary, in charge of the services. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery. Dlugopolski lived at Maitland. He came to America 23 years ago from Poland and had worked 2 years at Pictou and several years at Walsen. He was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union of America, No. 202, of Walsenburg. Surviving him are his wife, his mother, two small children, John and Mary, and three sisters, Mrs. John Legerski, Mrs. Mary Opiol, of Walsenburg and Mrs. Frances Bechaver of Toltec.
