Margaret L. Bus - Pueblo Chieftain - December 26, 2001 - Margaret L. Bush passed away Dec. 21, 2001. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Elwin Bush, and brothers and sisters. Survived by her son, Richard Bush; grandchildren, Ryan, Breanne and Karen Bush; and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation, Imperial Crematory. Graveside inurnment, 11 a.m. Friday, Imperial Memorial Gardens.

Busch, Earlin L.
Earlin L. Busch - Huerfano World - June 25, 1992 - Former Huerfano Re-1 School Board President Earlin L. Busch died Tuesday, June 23, 1992 in Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in La Junta. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, from Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Thursday (today) and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Born Oct. 2, 1922, in Orleans, NE, he moved with his family when he was less than one-year-old to the family ranch at Rattle Snakes Butte, outside Walsenburg. Mr. Busch retired from ranching in 1986 and he and his wife Lorene moved to La Junta. Mr. Busch served in the US Army in World War II returning to the area where he married his wife, the former Lorene Gardner on Feb. 28, 1948 in Raton, NM. They lived on the family ranch at the Huerfano County border, east of Walsenburg. He was past master of Huerfano Lodge #27 AF&AM, member of the Southern Colorado Consistory and a 32 degree Mason, past patron of OES and an active member and president of the La Junta Senior Citizen Center. He was elected to the Re-1 School Board in May, 1972 and served as president from May, 1975 until his retirement in 1979. Mr. Busch was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in La Junta. Survivors include his wife, Lorene, La Junta; two sons, Ronald Busch and Dennis Busch, both of Walsenburg; two daughters, Janet Collier, Denver and Maraleta Campbell, Bailey; 10 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lorene Busch - Pueblo Chieftain - January 04, 1998 - Lorene Busch, 72, of La Junta and formerly of Walsenburg, died Jan. 2, 1998. Services, 1 p.m. Tuesday at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Rev. Harold Wedel officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Lutheran Hospice, 8300 W. 38th Ave., Wheat Ridge, Colo., 80033.

Bush, A. Leon
A. Leon Bush - Pueblo Chieftain - November 07, 2003 - A. Leon Bush, 85, born Aug. 5, 1918, entered his heavenly home on Nov. 4, 2003. Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lavena "Love"; children, Annie (Herb) Thornton, Deborah Woodward, Leon K. Bush and Konna (Buddy) Vierow; grandchildren, Herb (Michelle) Thornton, Trisha (Duane) Tucker, Hollie Thornton (Brian Barrera), John D. Woodward, Tyler Woodward, Noel Bush, Amber Day Bush, Michael Vierow and Bethany Vierow. Also survived by five sisters, who reside in Texas. Preceded in death by his parents, Oland and Annie Madge Bush; sisters, Nelda Mullin, Elsie Ideker and Leona Rickman; and younger brother, Odell Bush. Leon married Lavena in 1946. Since accepting the Lord in 1951, he had served in many capacities at the First Church of the Nazarene including Sunday school teacher, NYPS president, church board member, Minister of Transportation, and he loved sharing fellowship and donuts after services. He was proud of the opportunity to work in the CC Corp and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1941 to 1945 in four major battles. He founded and owned Bush's Landscaping and retired from the C&W Railroad, but has never retired from his labors of love. His pleasures in life were his grandchildren, studying God's word, finding treasures at garage sales and flea markets, organizing family sing-alongs, journaling, and keeping in contact with friends on the CB Radio. Leon will be sadly missed by his precious wife, his church family, numerous friends, and his children and grandchildren. They will carry on his legacy of a daily walk with God and love for each other. At his request, no viewing. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Friday, First Church of the Nazarene. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery. Friends will be received after the services at the church. Carrie "Frances" Bush - Pueblo Chieftain - January 27, 2001 - Carrie “Frances” Bush, 89, of Pueblo, passed away Jan. 23, 2001. She retired from the Pueblo Army Depot after many years of service and was a faithful member of Park Hill Baptist Church. Her children and grandchildren will always remember the warm welcome and comfort she provided when visiting her home, remembering especially the holidays. She is survived by her sons, James B. (Lorraine) Smart of Hendersonville, Tenn., Rev. Henry E. (Patricia) Smart of Tempe, Ariz., and Gordon F. (Barbara) Smart of Pueblo; and stepdaughter, Helen Taylor, Lawrence, Ind. Also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives. Visitation, 1 to 7 p.m. today. Funeral service, 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, both at Adrian Comer Garden Chapel, 2710 North Elizabeth. Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens.

Survived by his wife, Margaret- son, Richard (Linda) Bush of Littleton- grandson, Ryan Bush- and granddaughters, Breanne and Karen Bush. Preceded in death by three brothers and one sister- numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Bush was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, and a member for more than 50 years of Masonic Lodge Consistory. Graveside service, 11 a.m. Wednesday, Imperial Memorial Gardens.

George S. Bush - Pueblo Chieftain - June 29, 1999 - George S. Bush, age 83, passed away June 28, 1999. Survived by his wife of 60years, Lola A. Bush- sons, George S. Bush and Thomas M. (Connie) Bush- four grandchildren- and two great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Magdaline Bush- brothers, Francis (Betty) Bush, Charles (Dorothy) Bush and Donald (Dorothy) Bush- sister-in-law, Dorothy Bush- and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mr. Bush served in the U.S. Navy from 1940 to 1961. He was a member of Christ the King Church parish, VFW, Disabled Veterans and Fleet Reserve Association. Golden D. Bush - Pueblo Chieftain - January 06, 1998 - Golden D. Bush passed away Jan. 4, 1998. Ms. Bush is survived by her husband, Harold Bush- grandchildren, Donna (Michael) Estep, Washington, Debra (Pascal) Graebel, Oregon and Howie (Debra) Pilcher- special friends, Mary and Nick Petrovic, Missouri, and Bob and Judy Marino- and numerous other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her children. Ms. Bush was a member of Atomic Energy Lodge No. 314 of Kansas City, Mo., for 45 years and worked for Bendix Corp. of Kansas City, Mo., for 18 years. She also attended Jeanine School of Modeling in Colorado Springs for two years and was a model for several print and television advertisements. Graveside service, 2 p.m. Thursday at Imperial Memorial Gardens.

Bush, Helen Marie
Helen Marie Bush - Pueblo Chieftain - February 24, 2002 - Helen Marie Bush, died Feb. 20, 2002. She was 82. Helen was born Feb. 11, 1920, in Altamont, Mo., and grew up on a farm near Stamford, Neb. After her schooling, she worked in the Furnas County Clerk's office as deputy clerk. She married Ralph Bush, Aug. 3, 1941, in McCook, Neb. Ralph died Oct. 18, 2000. She was a homemaker, member of First Presbyterian Church in Pueblo and the Eastern Star Lodge in Nebraska. Helen is survived by two children; Larry Bush of Boulder, Colo., and Kathryn (David) Vitek of Normal, Ill.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2002, in the First Presbyterian Church, Pueblo, with the Rev. Deborah Kehle Como officiating. The family will receive guests following the service. A graveside service was held, Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at the Naponee Cemetery in Naponee, Neb. The family requests that any contributions be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 220 W. 10th, Pueblo, Colo., 81003.

Lavena Day Bush - Pueblo Chieftain - May 02, 2006 - Lavena Day Bush, 78, born Sept. 25, 1927, went to her heavenly home on April 29, 2006, surrounded by her family in her home. Preceded in death by husband, Leon Bush; infant son, Francis Keith Bush. Survived by children, Annie (Herb) Thornton, Deborah Woodward, Leon Bush and Konna (Buddy) Vierow; grandchildren, Herb (Michelle) Thornton, Trisha (Duane) Tucker, Hollie Thornton (Brian Barrera), John D. Woodward, Tyler Woodward, Noel Bush, Amber Day Bush, Michael Vierow and Bethany Vierow; two great-grandchildren; loving twin sister, Lavona Rudolph; and siblings, Barbara, Russell and Ralph. She was a dedicated wife of 58 years to Leon and her life centered around her children, grandchildren and her church. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene for 55 years and enjoyed outings with the senior SAMS Group and was a member of the Pueblo Senior Walkers where she made many dear friends. Her family will carry on her legacy of a daily walk with God and love for each other. At her request, no viewing. Funeral service, 2 p.m. Wednesday, at First Church of the Nazarene. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery. Contributions may be made in her memory to the First Church of the Nazarene.

Bush, Lola A.
Lola A. Bush - Pueblo Chieftain - April 09, 2000 - Lola A. Bush, 80, entered into rest April 6, 2000, in Spokane. Lola was born on May 18, 1919, in Prague, Okla. She graduated from Centennial High School in Pueblo in 1937. She then completed course work at nursing school in Denver and worked as a nurse at the Colorado State Hospital. In 1939, Lola married George S. Bush and began a new life as a military spouse, mother, gardener and part-time secretary. Due largely to her enduring strength and courage, her family survived and flourished. In spite of the many uprooting moves to strange towns across the United States and overseas, encompassing over 25 years of military life, Lola always retained her humor, dignity and inner strength. Much as she had provided key support and guidance to her siblings in her youth, she gave those same gifts without complaint or regret to her family and friends as an adult. She was the glue that held her family together. Lola is survived by her son, George of Port Townsend, Wash.; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Connie of Spokane, Wash.; her brother, Chester Hoggatt of Denver, Colo.; sister, Charlene Biddle of Pueblo; and grandchildren, Richae Marez of Las Vegas, Nev., David Bush of Ventura, Calif., Michael Bush of Spokane, Wash., Eloise Bush of Padova, Italy, and Lynette Butterfield of Seattle, Wash. She was preceded in death by her husband, George S. Bush, in July 1999. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, staging area "A," Denver, Colo.

Mable Lee Bush - Pueblo Chieftain - June 27, 1998 - Mable Lee Bush, born March 31, 1914, to the union of Kate (Richardson) Wright and Alfred Lee Wright, passed away June 25, 1998, in Pueblo. She was a member of Dames of Malta, Women of the Moose, Navy Mothers, and taught piano lessons for 30 years, also was employed at School District 60 and United Bank, retiring in 1990. Preceded in death by husbands, Eugene A. Townley, and C.A. Bush- brothers, Paul Wright and Lynn Wright- sister, Lucille Ingram- and grandson, Richard Stewart. She is survived by children, James K. Stewart, Colorado Springs, Eugene L. Townley, Raeanna Mahoney, both of Pueblo, and Larry Townley, Littleton- daughters-in-law, Betty Stewart, Colorado Springs, and Lorraine Townley, Pueblo- 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Bushey, Raymond J.
Raymond J. Bushey - Huerfano World - November 14, 1991 - Crash - The pilot and an aerial observer on a routine night training mission were killed when their helicopter crashed sometime Wednesday evening, Nov. 6 just off Highway 10 approximately 14 miles east of Walsenburg. The wreckage was discovered Thursday morning. Cause of the crash is still under investigation, according to Fort Carson officials. The helicopter was flying at low altitude on a frequently used route between Fort Carson and Pinon Canon, outside Trinidad. A search was initiated when the OH-58 observation helicopter did not return as scheduled at 9 p.m. and could not be reached by radio. The downed aircraft was located around 10:15 a.m. Thursday. Search and rescue teams from Huerfano and Las Animas Counties, along with Air Force, Army and Civil Air Patrol personnel participated in the search for the downed helicopter. Killed were Chief Warrant Officer Raymond J. Bushey, 26, Gardner, MA, and Staff Sgt. Randy L. Ward, 24, Los Angeles.

Clara M. Bushnell - Pueblo Chieftain - December 18, 1998 - Clara M. Bushnell, 92, passed away Dec. 16, 1998. Preceded in death by her husband, William Bushnell. Survived by her daughter, Patricia (Charles) Ferretti of Pueblo- and grandchildren, Daniel (Joyce) Bicknell, Covina, Calif., Mary Dick, Cincinnatti, Ohio, Thomas (Gail) Bicknell, Fountain, and Robert (Holly) Ferretti, Denver. Also survived by seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass, Friday, 10 a.m., Shrine of St. Therese. Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens.

Laurine Margaretha Randolph Buss - Pueblo Chieftain - July 30, 1997 - Griffy Funeral Homes, Manzanola, Fowler, and Ordway - Laurine Margaretha Randolph Buss, 76, resident of Manzanola since 1946, died July 29, 1997. Preceded in death by her husbands, Willard Randolph, who died in June 1976- and by her second husband Wilbur Buss, who died July 27, 1997. Survived by one son, Willard K. Randolph of Melbourne, Fla. - one daughter, Renetta V. (Doc) Johnson of Manzanola- brother, Richard Tessmann, San Francisco, Calif. - three grandchildren- one great-grandchild- three step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. Services, 2 p.m. Thursday, St. Peter Lutheran Church in Rocky Ford. Burial in the Mountain View Cemetery in Manzanola. The casket will not be opened at the church. Memorials to the Dialysis Unit at the La Junta Medical Center may be sent in care of the funeral home.

Wilbur Fred Buss - Pueblo Chieftain - July 29, 1997 - Wilbur Fred Buss, 84, of Fowler, formerly of Manzanola, died July 27, 1997, at Fowler Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 1997, at Ustick Donelson Funeral Home, Rev. Virgil Lamm officiating. Interment at Hillcrest Cemetery, Rocky Ford.

Busse, Maude Shirley
Maude Shirley Busse - Pueblo Chieftain - September 28, 2003 - Maude Shirley Busse passed away Sept. 25, 2003, age 100, was born Nov. 10, 1902, on a farm near Garfield, Kan. She was the daughter of Shirley and Ida Arnold. Maude married Eric Busse, July 19, 1922, in Larned, Kan. They spent most of their years in Colorado where she participated in the Colorado State Fair Bakery department for many years winning prizes for her cakes, pies, cookies and bread. She served as an election judge numerous times for the city, county and school elections. She has been a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church since 1940. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eric E. Busse, who passed away in 1962; her parents, sister- and brother-in-law, Martha and W.J. Cline; and a nephew, John Cline. She is survived by two children, Vernon G. (Dolly) Busse of Loveland, Colo.; Virginia Busse of Pueblo; three grandchildren, Vern (Nancy) Busse, Dallas, Texas; Phyllis (John) Martin, Bennett, Colo.; Jim Busse of Fort Collins, Colo.; a nephew, Howard (Jane) Cline of Garfield, Kan.; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends during visitation from 10 a.m. until noon on Monday at the mortuary. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at Mountain View Cemetery. Marie C. Bussert - Pueblo Chieftain - May 11, 2004 - Marie C. Bussert, 90, passed away May 9, 2004. Survived by sons, Robert (Sandra) Fabrizio of Canon City, Colo., Ed (Sue) Bussert of Hammond, Ore., and David (Judy) Bussert of Grand Junction, Colo.; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Marie will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, friends; and of course, her much-loved dog, "Precious." Preceded in death by her husband, Clifford W. Bussert, in 1982; her parents; and her seven siblings. Born to William and Caroline Manley, July 21, 1913. Mrs. Bussert was proud of her 30-year work record at Coors Ceramics/Porcelain Co. in Golden, Colo. She was a member of the Catholic faith. At her request, no services. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Inurnment service at a later date in Canon City.

Bussey, Roy Don
Roy Don Bussey – Colorado Public Defender - August 14, 1964 - John Bizup Jr., Pueblo. W-W. Asphyxiation. Bizup was executed for the robbery-murder of a cab driver, Roy Don Bussey. Bizup, age thirty, had been hitchhiking through Colorado at the time of the crime. He had been in reform schools and jails since age twelve. Bizup confessed to the murder and claimed an insanity defense. One psychiatrist supported that claim, while three opposed it. The conviction was affirmed on appeal, and his petition for a writ of habeas corpus was denied. Shortly before his death, a psychiatrist concluded that Bizup was sane, and Governor John Love refused to commute the sentence. During the execution, cries of “killers” and “murderers” yelled by other prisoners and directed at the prison staff were heard in the death chamber.

Survived by his wife, Juanita Bustamante- sons, Jerry (Juanita) Bustamante, Colorado Springs, Toby (Susan) Bustamante, Aurora, Thomas (Stella) Bustamante, Pueblo, Frank (Joyce) Bustamante, Thornton, Eugene (Betty) Bustamante, James (Christina) Bustamante, both of Pueblo- daughter, Patricia Vigil, Pueblo- sisters, Lucy and Tony Roldan, Lena and Bernie Suazo, both of Pueblo- 20 grandchildren- and 10 great-grandchildren. Larry J. Bustamante - Pueblo Chieftain - November 26, 2003 - Larry J. Bustamante, 49, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 24, 2003. Preceded in death by his mother, Mary Aneda Bustamante; grandparents, several uncles and aunts. Survived by his daughter, Adrianne Medina, Denver; sisters and brothers, Linda (Chencho) Espinoza, Pueblo, Richard Bustamante, Denver, Robert (Stella) Garcia, Rocky Ford, Liz (Pat) Duran, Pueblo, Angela (Jimmy) Aguilera, Pueblo, Norbert Lucero, Hope, Ark.; several nieces, nephews, godson, Adrian Lucero, and other relatives. Larry had a love for cooking, fishing, riding his bike, and loved nature. No Viewing. Memorial Mass, 10 a.m. Friday, at St. Pius X Church. Bustillos, Henry
Henry Bustillos - Moore County News-Press - June 29, 2005 - Dumas, TX - Funeral services for Henry Bustillos, 47, of Dumas, were held Tuesday, June 28, 2005, in St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Brownfield. Officiating was Gabriel Cardiel. Interment was in Brownfield Cemetery. Mr. Bustillos, formerly of Brownfield, died Thursday, June 23, 2005, in Trinidad, Colo. Born Aug. 13, 1957, to Pedro and Geneva Bustillos in Brownfield, he graduated from Meadow High School in 1976. He moved to Amarillo in 1998 and then to Dumas last year. He was a truck driver and assisted on road construction in the oil industry. He worked for Venable Construction of Dumas. He is remembered for loving his family. He enjoyed being with his family and collecting Nascar memorabilia and baseball cards. He was preceded in death by his father, Pedro, in 2000 and two brothers, Guadalupe and Jimmy. Survivors include his wife, Yolanda, of the home; his mother, Geneva Bustillos of Meadow; his grandmother, Sirilda Davila, of Brownfield; a son, John Ventura of Amarillo; two daughters, Jessica Cavazos of Meadow and Liana Bustillos of Lubbock; two brothers, George of Meadow and Pedro, Jr., of Lubbock; one sister, Julie Bustillos of Meadow, and four grandchildren. Esther Bustos - Pueblo Chieftain - May 08, 2001 - Esther Bustos, 75, departed this life May 7, 2001. Born Jan. 20, 1926, in Maxwell, N.M. She was a homemaker who enjoyed fishing and going to Cripple Creek. Survived by her husband, Joe M. Bustos; children, Jim Cordova, Mary Ann (Ishmael) Martinez and Nancy Cordova; siblings, Vern (Mary) Cordova, Richard (Sally) Cordova, Lucy Pillich and Rose (Joe) Cortez; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends, including her two dogs "Boomer" and "Alex." Mrs. Bustos is preceded in death by her parents, Quirino and Rosenda (Sanchez-Young) Cordova; sister, Albina Garcia; and two brothers, Bill and Max Cordova. Rosary vigil, 7 p.m. Thursday. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Friday, Father Thomas Hinni, C.M., celebrant. Both services, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery. Family will receive friends at 1409 Van Buren St.

Francisquita Bustos - Huerfano World - January 5, 1989 - This Week in Walsenburg History - 1923: Died, Francisquita Bustos, 105, leaving 54 descendants. When the family first came to Leon Plaza, it was a narrow strip between the ball field and Main Street with one store and three dwellings.

Juan B. Bustos - Huerfano World - June 27, 2002 - This Week in Walsenburg History - 1900: Died, Juan B. Bustos, a resident of Huerfano County for 30 years, of dropsy. He leaves a wife and two children, two brothers and two sisters. He was buried at Cucharas.

Bustos, Julian B.
Julian B. Bustos - Huerfano World - June 25, 1992 - Julian B. Bustos, 87, of Pueblo, formerly of Walsenburg, died in a Pueblo hospital Wednesday, June 17, 1992. Mr. Bustos had been in ill health for some time. Born Jan. 9 1905, at Cucharas where he was reared, he spent most of his life as a rancher. In 1942, he went to Pueblo and worked for the D&RG Railroad in the roundhouse. He also worked at the PAD from where he retired. He is survived by his wife, Adelaida GONZALES Bustos, whom he married Feb. 23, 1936 in St. Mary Church in Walsenburg; three sons, John M. BUSTOS, Pueblo, Bebian BUSTOS and Michael D. BUSTOS, both of Aurora; two brothers, Felix BUSTOS of Walsenburg, and Celedon BUSTOS of Albuquerque, NM; and a sister, Eulalia BRITT, of Walsenburg; eight grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral mass was Thursday from St. Francis Church in Pueblo. Burial was in South St. Mary Cemetery in Walsenburg. Boies Almont was in charge of arrangements.

Bustos, Matiana
Matiana Bustos - World Independent – March 21, 1930 - Abundo Bustos' Wife Dies at Home Here - Mrs. Matiana Bustos, wife of Abundo Bustos, pioneer Huerfano county flockmaster, died at her home here Thursday following a short illness. She was 60 years old and had lived here all of her life. Mrs. Bustos was born in Cucharas Junction. Funeral services will be held from the Bustos home at 9:30 a.m. and from the St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Surviving her are her husband, a sister, Mrs. Matio Cordova, two brothers, Juan Vallejos and Antonio Vallejos; a son, Ben Bustos, and a daughter Mrs. Clegario Martinez, all of Walsenburg. Interment will be in the St. Mary's cemetery in charge of Furphy Bros. Undertaking Co.

Bustos, Richard Sr.
Richard Bustos Sr. - Huerfano World - December 2, 1982 - Richard Bustos Sr., 82, of Walsenburg, died Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25, 1982, at St. Mary Corwin Hospital in Pueblo. Born in Cucharas, east of Walsenburg, Apr. 27, 1900 Mr. Bustos was a retired rancher. He also worked at the Pueblo Army Depot for a few years. Mr. Bustos was a member of St. Mary Church, Coronado Club and Latin American Club. Survivors include two children, Richard Bustos Jr. of Pueblo and Rita Fishael of Denver; a sister, Millie Lopez, Walsenburg; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and his former wife, Elsie Pino. Mass of Christian Burial was at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary Church. Burial was in North St. Mary Cemetery. Boies Almont was in charge if arrangements.

Bustos, Sally
Sally "Solema" Bustos - Pueblo Chieftain - January 23, 2005 - Sally "Solema" Bustos. On Jan. 19, 2005, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Sally Bustos, entered the eternal comfort of the Lord after 88 years of blessed and giving life. Sally Bustos of Glenwood Springs, Colo., was born on Feb. 9, 1916, to Leocadia and Roman Madrid. Sally is preceded in death by her late husband, Pete Bustos; son, Johnny; daughter, Cedia Bustos; stepmother, Rufufgio Madrid; and brothers, Toni, Abel, Manuel and John Madrid. Sally will be sadly missed by her seven surviving children who she bravely raised alone, Lindy Martinez of Omaha, Neb.; Rosella Montoya of Albuquerque, N.M.; David Bustos of Salt Lake City, Utah; Tom Bustos of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; Mike Bustos of Omaha, Neb.; Joan Rivera of Gypsum, Colo., and Elaine Woodhead of Bangor, Maine. She will also be sadly missed by her 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Stella Jasper of Denver; Sally Leeway of Salida, Colo.; Pauline Lucero of Albuquerque, N.M.; Tino Madrid of Panama City, Fla.; and Joe Madrid of Oak Harbor, Wash. Family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 23, at Imperial Funeral Home. Rosary, 7 p.m. Sunday and funeral Mass, 2 p.m. Monday, both services at St. Joseph Church. Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens.

Buswell, Ruth I.
Ruth I. Buswell - Pueblo Chieftain - March 07, 2003 - Ruth I. Buswell, 94, passed away March 5, 2003. She was born in Elroy, Wis., and is survived by her sister, Faye Buswell of Pueblo, Colo.; and a cousin, Ailene Beady of Monument, Colo. She retired from the U.S. government with 37 years of service. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Methodist Church. At her request, cremation with no services. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Interment, family plot at Roselawn Cemetery. Those who desire may make memorial contributions to the Avondale United Methodist Church through the funeral home.
