Mary Ann Bubnich - Pueblo Chieftain - January 21, 1999 - Mary Ann Bubnich, passed away Jan. 19, 1999, in Thornton. Survived by husband, Frank, Thornton- son, Robert (Vicki), Thornton- grandsons, Robert (Stephanie), Northglenn, and Joseph (Kirsten), Greeley- and six great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Frances Novak, Salida, and Justine Hren, Leadville- and brothers, Rudy (Jean) Castello, Pueblo, and Jack (Mary) Vicic, Walsenburg- as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bubnich is preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Funeral Mass, Friday, Jan. 22, 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery.

Phyllis Buccambuso - Pueblo Chieftain – September 24, 2006 - Phyllis Buccambuso, born Nov. 15, 1911, passed away Sept. 21, 2006. Preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Virginia Angelico; and husband, Luke Buccambuso. Survived by her children, Joe (Betty) Buck and Clara Lepik; grandchildren, Michael Buck, Carl (Carrie) Buck, both of Pueblo, Kelly (Bob) Ward, Texas, Sheila Ford, Calif., Carla Friend, Nev., Tom Lepik, N.Y., and Dan Lepik, Pueblo. Also survived by her brothers, Joe (Toni) Angelico, Colorado Springs and Bob Angelico, Calif.; sister, Theresa Sterba, Calif.; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Also preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Bennie Angelico; and sisters, Lena Mathews and Rose McKinney. Viewing, 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Bucci, John A.
John A. Bucci - Huerfano World - July 13, 1989 - John A. Bucci of the T.O. Ranch in Gardner died July 6, 1989. He is survived by a daughter, Sherie Huebner, Canon City; two sisters, Josephine Howard, Pasadena, CA and Carrie Valdez, Pueblo and a brother, Walter Bucci, Walsenburg, and two granddaughters. Mr. Bucci was a member of the Colorado Cattleman's Association and served in the U.S. Army. Cremation, Almont Crematory. At his request there was no service.

Bucci, Joseph Edward
Joseph Edward Bucci - Huerfano World - January 28, 1999 - Joseph Edward Bucci, 50, of Walsenburg, died January 21, 1999. Born November 1, 1948 in Pueblo, he was a member of DAV in Pueblo. Survivors include his wife, Mary, Walsenburg; children Jeremy Bucci, Walsenburg, and Pamela Bucci, Pueblo; his mother, Donna Bucci-Foote, Pueblo; brothers Tony Bucci and Richard Bucci, Denver; and Michael Bucci, Pueblo; sisters, La Vern Valdez, Barbara McCall, Phyllis Marquez, and Debra Martinez, all of Denver, Lorraine Leal, Pueblo and Geraldine Myers, Alaska; two step-children, Robert and Stacy Duran, Pueblo; one grandson, nieces and nephews. Vigil rosary was from Romero Chapel on Sunday. Funeral mass was from St. Mary Church on Monday. Burial was in Turkey Creek Cemetery.

Bucci, Joseph W.
Joseph Walter Bucci - Huerfano World - March 11, 1993 - Huerfano Joseph Walter Bucci, 65, of Walsenburg, died at his home Mar. 2, 1993. Born Oct. 9, 1927 in Gardner, he attended school in Huerfano County and shortly after joined the US Army. He served in Europe during World War II and after a medical discharge in 1947 from wounds suffered during the war, he came back to work on the family ranch in Turkey Creek. He also worked on ranches and in oil fields in Wyoming, Montana, Utah and Idaho and worked at CF&I in Pueblo. He liked to travel and made it a point to visit every state in the United States. He returned to live in Walsenburg in 1978. Mr. Bucci was a member of St. Mary Church. Survivors include his children, Joseph E. Bucci, Walsenburg, Geraldine Meyers, Fairbanks, AK, Lavern Valdez, Lorraine Leal, Sandra Bucci, Phyllis Marquez, Debra Martinez, Tony and Richard Bucci, all of Denver and Michael Bucci, Pueblo, three sisters, Josephine Howard, Pasadena, CA, Carrie Valdez, Pueblo and Fern Sandoval, Walsenburg; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral mass was Saturday from St. Mary Church. Burial was in Valdez Cemetery in Turkey Creek. J.M. Antle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Marie Delfina Bucci - Pueblo Chieftain - December 31, 1982 - Mrs. Marie Delfina Bucci, of Walsenburg died Dec. 30, 1982, Huerfano Memorial Hospital. Survived by daughters, Mrs., Fern Sandoval, Walsenburg, and Mrs. Carrie Valdez, Pueblo; son, Walter Bucci, Walsenburg; stepdaughter, Mrs. Josephine Howard, California; stepson, John Bucci, Walsenburg; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Rosary recitation, 7 p.m., Sunday, Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. Monday, both services at St. Mary Church. Interment, Turkey Creek Cemetery. The family will be at 533 W. Seventh Street, Walsenburg.

Bucciarelli, Carl
Carl Bucciarelli - Pueblo Chieftain - January 13, 2001 - Age 89, passed away Jan. 12, 2001. He was born in Portland, Colo., on Mar. 18, 1911, to Domenico and Angelindonia Bucciarelli. Carl served with the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a member of the American Legion in Blende. He is survived by sisters, Bernice Bartolomucci and Marguerite Ciavaglia; as well as a brother, Domenick Bucciarelli Jr., all of Pueblo. Cremation, Almont Crematory. At Mr. Bucciarelli's request, no service will be scheduled. Please omit food and flowers.

Carmella Bucciarelli - Pueblo Chieftain - October 19, 1998 - Carmella Bucciarelli, 93, of Pueblo passed away Oct. 17, 1998. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Carmine Bucciarelli Sr.- sister, Edith Highnote- brother, Henry DeSalvo. Survived by children, Marie (Jack) Neelan, Josephine A. Bucciarelli and Carmine J. (Betty) Bucciarelli Jr. - brother, Tony (Jenny) DeSalvo- sister, Angela Biondi- and sister-in-law, Mary DeSalvo, all of Pueblo. Also survived by eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Carmella was Grand President of the Saint Theresa Society of Vineland. Public visitation, noon to 5 p.m. today. Frances E. Bucciarelli – Pueblo Chieftain – August 6, 2006 - Frances E. Bucciarelli, 88, passed away Aug. 4, 2006. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe, in 1991; son in-law, Dick Prigmore; sister, Lucille Miller; brother, James Zito. She is survived by her daughter, Clara Prigmore; grandsons, Rick (Rachel), Nick (Dee) Prigmore; great-grandchildren, Trent, Brett, James Prigmore, Shannon, Jeremy Mihelich; sister, Anna Marie Maxie; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Frances retired from Woolworth's after 25 years of service in 1977. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at Holy Family Church. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Donations may be made in Frances' memory to the Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home office.

Buchanan, Archie
Archie Buchanan - Akron Weekly Pioneer Press – October 14, 1892 – A Wreck on the Santa Fe Road.  Three Train Men Killed.  On the Track Caused a Catastrophe Near Eden.  The Santa Fe local freight train No. 46, engine No. 443, running between Pueblo and Colorado Springs, was wrecked near Eden at 12:20 o'clock Sunday morning.  Three men were killed, or are supposed to be dead, as their bodies are under the wreckage.  They are the engineer, fireman and the head brakeman.  Eight cars and the engine are piled in one mass at the side of the track, and coal and freight of every description are scattered broadcast.  The men killed are Joseph Miller, engineer; C. C. McCune, fireman, and Archie Buchanan, head brakeman.  The wreck was first discovered by the trainmen of the Rio Grande passenger train which passes this place at 12:15.  The two roads at this point run almost parallel with each other.  The wreck was immediately reported to Colorado Springs and the superintendent and dispatcher at Pueblo proceeded to the scene.  The conductor and the brakeman who was unhurt went, one in each direction, to flag approaching trains, and their comrades were left in the ruins that others might be protected.  It was found that the wreck was caused by the engine striking a cow.  The wrecking of the engine, tender and cars was complete and the track was torn up.  The three men were evidently killed instantly, and their bodies were badly crushed.

Buchanan, Charlotte Rodgers
Charlotte Rodgers Buchanan - Pueblo Chieftain - May 10, 2000 - Charlotte Rodgers Buchanan passed away May 7, 2000, in Pueblo. Charlotte was born Dec. 29, 1928, and was a graduate of Central High School, Pueblo Junior College, the University of Colorado with a bachelor of arts and bachelor diploma in education, and Adams State College with a master's in education. She retired after 33 years of teaching in Alamosa and Pueblo District 60 with her last position being an elementary music specialist. She was honored by the Colorado Music Association as a Trendsetter in Music Education and was a piano accompanist for instrumental soloists for over 45 years and a church organist for nine years. Student adviser with Voyageurs International for three European tours. An avid U.S. and world traveler who enjoyed concerts, plays and operas. She was also a Civil War buff who tramped many battlefields. Preceded in death by her husband, James Tye Buchanan, in 1988; father; and two brothers. Survived by her daughter, Lydia Rafferty, and mother, Gladys Rodgers, both of Pueblo; sister, Judge Orrelle Weeks, Denver; granddaughter Colleen; other relatives; special friends, Margaret and Dan Gale, Sharon and Christopher Arrigo, Edith Tonelli, Rene Hawkins and other friends. Cremation in the Davis Crematory. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2000, in the Davis Memorial Chapel. Please omit food and flowers. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society through the mortuary.

Buchanan, Walter T.
Walter T. Buchanan - Huerfano World - May 2, 1991 - Walsenburg Native Walter Thomas Buchanan of Paonia died Sunday, Apr 14, 1991, in Delta County Memorial Hospital. He was 75. Mr. Buchanan was a mechanic and electrician in a coal mine. He had lived in Paonia for the past 28 years. Born in Walsenburg, Sept. 30, 1915, he grew up here and graduated from Huerfano County High School. He married Dorothy Morgan Nov. 23, 1935, in Raton, N.M. Mr. Buchanan) also lived in Toltec, Bear River, at the Keystone Mine, Oak Creek and at the Bear Mine, before moving to Paonia in 1972. He attended Paonia Methodist Church and was member of United Mine Workers of America. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, Paonia; a son, Earl Buchanan, two grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral service and burial was in Paonia.

Dorothy R. Buchinger - Pueblo Chieftain - April 22, 2004 - Dorothy R. Buchinger, went to Heaven on April 19, 2004. Dorothy most recently lived in Pueblo, CO & moved to Tucson, AZ. last August. She is survived by her daughters, Ann (Emile) Therrien of Tucson & Penny Gummersall of Sonora, CA and sons David (Pam) & Joseph Buchinger, both of Pueblo; grandchildren, Emile (Dawna) Therrien & Jennifer (Jeremy) Bailey, both of Tucson & great-grandchildren, Emile Alexander and Luc Joseph Therrien & Beau Emile & Bryce Eric Bailey. Buck, Mary Nives
Sister Mary Nives Buck - The Kansas City Star - February 20, 1997 - Sister Mary Nives Buck, 90, Atchison, KS, died February 19, 1997, at Mount St. Scholastica. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 22, in the choir chapel at Mount St. Scholastica; burial will be in the Sisters' Cemetery, Atchison. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday, in Dooley Center, and close with a vigil service at 7 p.m. in the choir chapel. Memorial Contributions may be made to Benedictine Sisters, Mount St. Scholastica. Catherine Buck was born in 1906, in Ramu, Austria, to Nicholas Buck, a tailor, and Elizabeth Hangel Buck. She joined the Benedictine Sisters in Atchison in 1929, and celebrated monastic profession in 1931. She spent nearly 60 years in hospitality, food service and housekeeping, assisting members of her religious community who were teaching in Benedictine-staffed schools throughout the Midwest. Among these were 13 years at Donnelly College, Kansas City, KS; 18 years at Mount St. Scholastica; and six years at Mount St. Scholastica Academy. She was also employed at a number of places in Missouri, including Lillis High School, Kansas City, and, in Colorado, at Antonito and Walsenburg. She leaves one brother, Nick Buck, Severy, KS. Venita M. Buckholz - Pueblo Chieftain - October 19, 1999 - Venita M. Buckholz, 82, passed away Oct. 18, 1999. Preceded in death by her husband, Philip V. Buckholz, in 1988. Survived by her children, Arla (Cliff) Perron, Canon City, Linda (Roger) Schneider, Conroe, Texas, and Larry Buckholz, Pueblo; eight grandchildren: Russ, Scott and Kent Perron, Rhonda Wagner, Kim Riddle, Troy and Cassandra Buckholz, and Melanie. Also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Edward E. Nydegger, Topeka, Kan., Dean (Dorothy) Nydegger, Springfield, Ill., and Lee F. Nydegger, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was a retired bookkeeper with Western Auto. Viewing hours are noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral service, 11 a.m. Thursday, T.G. Buckingham, Nadine S.
Nadine S. Buckingham - Great Falls Tribune - September 2, 2004 - Great Falls, MT - Former longtime Great Falls resident Nadine S. (Sayre) Buckingham, 95, died of natural causes July 22 in Arlington, Va. A memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Great Falls. Cremation has taken place. She is survived by her son, Robert S. Rose of Suquamish, Wash.; her daughter, Donna Buckingham Haines of Alexandria, Va.; five granddaughters and six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Born April 12, 1909, in Trinidad, Colo., Irma Nadine Sayre was raised in Arizona and California. She came to Montana with her son, Robert S. Rose, in 1934, and lived at the MacGinniss ranch near Craig. During World War II, she worked in airplane plants in Long Beach, Calif., and on Gore Hill. In 1945, she married Donald W. Buckingham, and lived in various places in Montana during his years working in road construction. They settled in Great Falls in 1961. An avid gardener and conservationist, Mrs. Buckingham lived independently following the 1989 death of her husband until August 2003, when she relocated to northern Virginia to be near her daughter's family.

Buckles, William Gayl
William Gayl Buckles - Pueblo Chieftain - June 20, 2004 - William Gayl Buckles passed away June 13, 2004, in Pueblo. He was born May 25, 1931, in Parco, Wyo., to Harold and Jewel Buckles. Preceded in death by wife, Nancy; brother, Robert; and his parents. Survived by children, David, Catherine and Susan of Pueblo; his dog, Lily; his brother, Fred; and many fictive kin. A child of the Depression, Bill was raised in Wyoming, Texas, Tennessee, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. He volunteered with the U.S. Marine Corps and was proud of his service in the Korean War. Following their marriage in 1955, Bill and Nancy's future was determined by a flip of a coin, with the homesteading in Alaska losing out to education. From 1955 to 1965 he attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, ultimately earning a doctoral degree in anthropology. He and Nancy's early years together were spent studying and working in the Sudan, in sites in North and South Dakota, and the Western United States. His work on the Ute Prehistory Project and in cultural resource management investigations have contributed to the understanding of prehistoric and historic cultures in the West. His lifelong anthropological researches led him to sites throughout the world. In 1965, Bill came to Southern Colorado State College in Pueblo as the school's first full-time anthropology professor. He retired from the University of Southern Colorado in 1992 after 27 years of teaching both anthropology and life to a generation of students. Bill's lifelong commitment to learning included the encouragement of both professional and avocational studies. He was noted for his numerous articles in professional journals and local publications. He was generous with his time and knowledge and was a welcome and entertaining speaker at professional meetings and for many regional community organizations. In recent years, most of his research centered on the Santa Fe and Taos trails and the search for and excavation of El Pueblo. In retirement, he devoted himself to exploring, experiencing and walking the world with travels in Great Britain, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and South America. His journeys in the United States were with his dog, Lily, always by his side. Bill was a person whose sense of humor, commitment to excellence, eccentricities and integrity will be remembered and missed. His ashes will be spread in places he loved. A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2004, in the Hearthwell Lounge in the Occhiato University Center at Colorado State University-Pueblo. In lieu of flowers or gifts, contributions will be accepted by the Colorado State University-Pueblo Foundation, El Pueblo Museum, the Pioneer Cemetery Committee, the Pueblo Archaeological and Historical Society or the Pueblo County Historical Society.

James C. (Grover) Buckley - Pueblo Chieftain - December 20, 1942 - James C. (Grover) Buckley, at the residence, 122 West Routt Avenue, Dec. 18. Survived by his widow and one son, John Blair Buckley. Buckstein, Ted
Ted Buckstein - Pueblo Chieftain - March 17, 2002 - Age 93, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2002, in Denver, Colo. Ted was born in Pueblo, Colo., on July 27, 1908, to Joseph and Sarah Buckstein. He graduated from Centennial High School in 1926. He was married to Eleanor Molien on Aug. 9, 1936. He was preceded in death by Eleanor in 1996. Ted is the father of Sandra (Harvey) Eisen and Dr. Jan (Risa) Buckstein. He is the grandfather of Brent (Jolie) and Craig Eisen and Ron, Michael and Adam Buckstein. Ted was a very active citizen. He retired from Fox Vliet Drug Company in 1974. He was a member of Silver State No. 95; a 33rd degree Mason from the Southern Colorado Consistory; a member of Al Kaly Shrine; B'nai Brith; United Hebrew Center; the Transportation Club and the Boy Scouts of America. He was the treasurer of Kiwanis for 25 years. Ted moved to Denver in 1998. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 17, 2002, Adrian Comer Garden Chapel. Burial will follow at B'Nai Jacob Cemetery.

Earl Lloyd "Bear" Budd - Pueblo Chieftain - November 04, 1998 - Earl Lloyd "Bear" Budd, 72, of Canon City, died Oct. 31, 1998. He was born Aug. 19, 1926, in Cimarron, N.M., to Joseph and Rhoda (Williams) Budd. Earl spent his early childhood in the San Luis Valley and there he met and married Della Margaret Farnham in Taos, N.M., on Oct. 14, 1951. As a Master Sergeant in the Army, he and his wife were stationed in Landstuhl, Germany, where they gave birth to twin boys, John Lee and Donald Lou. Earl and Della returned to Colorado in 1954 and later, their third son, Robert Lloyd was born in Alamosa. For five years, Earl worked for the Monte Vista Police Force and then in 1960, he moved his family to Canon City where he began his 31-year career with the Colorado Department of Corrections. Earl retired from the Fremont Correctional Facility in 1991. Bear, as his family and close friends lovingly referred to him, was regarded as an exceptional husband and father as well as a wonderful friend. He has opened his heart and his home to many people over the years. Mr. Budd was preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his wife, Della- four children, John (Margaret) Budd of Littleton, Don (Kathy Morris) Budd of Monument, Bob (Karen) Budd of Aiea, Hawaii, and Vicki (Steve) Harris of Huntington Beach, Calif. His grandchildren are Amanda, Traci, Ben, Rio, Mackenzie, Matthew, Aubrey and Brandon. He has one great-grandchild, Jazmine. He is also survived by his four brothers, Bob (Edith) Budd, Harold (Virginia) Budd and William (Karen) Budd, all of Canon City and Roy (Norma) of Bloomfield, N.M. - and one sister, Peggy (Mike) Curio of Alamosa. Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998, 2 p.m. at Wilson-Andrews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Hanover Community Church, 17480 S. He is survived by his wife, Diane of 32 years- three children, Julie (Budz) Doughty, Scott and Tara (Budz) Hunt, Nick Budz- two beautiful grandchildren, Jacob and Shayne Kathleen Doughty, all of Pueblo West- father, Frank Budz- sisters, Carol and Susie Budz of Illinois- a dog, Roxie- and a cockatiel, Max- and numerous relatives and friends. Eddie Bud moved to Pueblo West from Chicago 27 years ago after he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He went on to develop his talents as a carpenter and was president/owner of Trim Rite Interiors. For many years he umpired softball at the P.W. ball fields. He was a charter member of the Lyons and an avid member of the Senior Beacon and PGA Golf Association. Ed loved to golf (a scratch golfer!), fish, hunt, bowl, and give people guff. M. William Buechele - Huerfano World – September 14, 2006 – M. William (Bill)n Buechele was born December 23, 1928 in Altoona, PA and departed this life September 8, 2006 in Walsenburg. He was affectionately known by the younger members of his family as “Uncle Bill.” He received his early education in the Walsenburg school system and was a graduate of CU Boulder, where he also taught. He lived in Germany for a year, served four years in the U. S. Air Force, taught German at the University of West Virginia for 17 years, and worked for the U. S. Department of Agriculture for 10 years, serving in Walsenburg, Colorado Springs, and Pueblo offices. Bill loved telling jokes, making up poetry and speaking German. He is preceded in death by his mother, Edna Dick Matthews, grandparents Hugh and Mae Dick, aunts and uncles. He is survived by cousins Barbara (Howard) Drury, Shana (Patrick) Stollsteimer, Damien and Derek Stollsteimer, all of Pueblo, Mark (Laurie) Erwin, Ryan and Colton Dick and Aunt Almira “Peggy” Dick of Ione, CA and a host of friends including Lori Vigil and Paul Valdez. Joseph Buecker - Pueblo Chieftain – February 7, 1900 – Well Known Here - Many Puebloans will be pained to learn of the death of Joseph Buecker at Denver yesterday. He was well known among smelter men having lived here for a number of years, being 40 years old at the time of his death. The remains will be brought from Denver today and buried from the residence of his brother Henry Buecker, at block T. He was a member of the Iron City, lodge, No. 4, A. O. U. W., and the Miner's union at Victor. The time of the funeral will be announced later. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Claudia Sumruld; her first husband, Elmer Watkins; second husband, Bill Buehler; special friend, Tom Murgatroyd; six brothers; sons-in-law, Eugene Hicks and George Gray; daughter-in-law, Lee Ann Watkins; granddaughter, Andrea Barker. She is survived by her children, Alma (Gordon) Barker, Vernon (Lovina) Watkins, Noraetta Hicks, Betty Gray, Bill (Dorothy) Watkins, Bob Watkins; also survived by numerous grand, great, great-great, and great-great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Buell, Verna Elizabeth
Verna Elizabeth Buell – Pueblo Chieftain – September 17, 2006 - Verna Elizabeth Buell, 91, died at home in Los Angeles on August 18, 2006. She was born in Pueblo, Colo. on January 31, 1915 Ð the eldest of 3 children born to Walter and Eva Cann. A classical pianist in her early years, she performed a piano concerto with the Pueblo Civic Symphony at the age of 17. After graduation, she worked as a secretary and played sheet music for customers at a downtown Pueblo music store. In 1935, she married Rei Christopher, then Director of Music for the Pueblo public school system (and former French horn player with John Philip Sousa's concert band). During her 35-year marriage to Mr. Christopher, she became interested in flying and earned both her pilot and commercial licenses. She worked for Continental Airlines in Pueblo, Colorado Springs, and Denver from 1946 until her retirement in 1971 primarily as a radio operator and station agent. She became an active member of the "99s" a nation-wide group for women pilots, and also served as President of the Western Women's Pilot's Association for a time. Widowed in 1970, she met and married Bob Buell (a fellow Continental employee) in 1971 and subsequently moved to Los Angeles. During her 35-year marriage to Mr. Buell, she traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia. Her hobbies included golf, photography and gourmet cooking. Verna was a life-long member of First Church of Christ, Scientist. Preceded in death by her brother (Walter Cann, Jr.), she is survived by her husband, Bob; her sister and brother-in-law, Audra (Cann) and Joe Conner; nieces, nephews and stepchildren. Joseph Buffalo - Pueblo Chieftain - May 23, 2004 - Joseph Buffalo, 82, lifetime Pueblo resident passed away on May 20, 2004. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Rosemarie Buffalo, in 1991. Also preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Virginia Buffalo; sisters, Pauline Cacciatore, Mary Pisciotta, Anna Silkhia; brothers, Mike, Sam and Sylvester Buffalo; son-in-law, Tom Guay, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dan and Jennie Quirico. He is survived by his children, Jodean Guay, Calvin (Trish) Buffalo and Alvin (Sherry) Buffalo; seven grandchildren; brothers, Charles, Frank and Richard Buffalo. Also survived by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives and many friends. Joe served in the Army in World War II in the European Theater, a member of Our Lady of the Meadows. He was a member of the Eagles No. 145, Elks No. 90 BPOE, Good Sam's Club and La Familia. He was an avid pool player and enjoyed dancing. He farmed throughout his life but truly enjoyed his career as a cosmetologist. The legacy he leaves behind has been instilled with his honesty, integrity and good work ethics. He was a true family man. Joe will be deeply missed by the many lives he touched. Sylvia Mae Colletti Buffalo - Pueblo Chieftain - August 20, 2002 - Sylvia Mae Colletti Buffalo, 74, affectionately known as “Teda,” born March 1, 1928, passed away Aug. 18, 2002. Survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Richard Buffalo; children, Ginny Burger and Charlene (Dael) Clarkson; grandchildren, Matthew and Timothy Clarkson; and special family member, Cathy Montera. Also survived by her brothers, Frank (Lucille) Colletti and Charles (Phyllis) Colletti; brothers-in-law, Charles (Pauline) Buffalo, Joe Buffalo, Frank (Verna) Buffalo and Dominic Pisciotta; sister-in-law, Geraldine Buffalo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Virginia Colletti; infant brother, John Colletti; stepmother, Lula Colletti; and grandparents, John and Rose Musso. Sylvia was a member of Christ the King Parish and St. Theresa Society. She was a day-care provider for many years and enjoyed music, camping, family activities and her precious dog, Buddy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lucille Ossola. Survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Frank Buffalo; her very dear children, Jeana (Terry) Hindmarch of Scottsdale, Ariz., Paula (Jim) LoPresti of Colorado Springs; specially loved grandchildren, Michelle and James Paul; sister, Martha Huerta; brother, Eddie Ossola; many beloved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, and nieces. Verna retired from School District No. 60 Food Service Department, after 25 years of dedicated service. Visitation, Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Pauline Buffington - Pueblo Chieftain - December 09, 2003 - Pauline Buffington, 75, passed away Dec. 7, 2003. She was born Feb. 29, 1928, in Pueblo, to the union of Joe and Gladys Benesch. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Evans; her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Pauline leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 35 years, James Buffington; children, Nancy Prince, Roger (Donna) Evans; stepchildren, Debbie Buffington and Jimmy Buffington; grandchildren, Karl Prince, Jodi (Joe) Kollruss, Jeffrey Evans, Jerrod Evans, Crystal Evans, Erin (Lawrence) Wallace, Nicole Flores; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Esther) Benesch; sisters, Leila (Darrell) Clarke, Alice (Jim) Shaffer, Norma (Ronald) Glach; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Pauline retired as a LPN; and was also the president of the Pueblo Ham Club for one year, as well as handled emergency calls on the amateur network for several years. Pauline will always be remembered for her great sense of family, where she accepted everyone into, as well as shared her opinions with. She will be sadly missed. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids, cooking, music, flowers, crafts; and she even learned how to operate her computer. Bull, Herbert
Herbert "Ray" Bull - Pueblo Chieftain - May 30, 2005 - Herbert "Ray" Bull, 76, of Pueblo West, passed away May 29, 2005. Ray retired as a lieutenant colonel from the U.S. Air Force in 1997, after 28 years of service. Preceded in death by his father, Lyle; mother, Geraldine; and brother, Wilbur Lee. Ray is survived by his wife, Suzanne; sons, Keith and Ken; daughters, Lynn Johnson and Ann Bull; and grandsons, Jesse, Nate and Drew Bull and Hunter Johnson. Ray was an avid and enthusiastic golfer and will be missed by his many friends at Walking Stick. A private family memorial service will be held in late June. Richard W. Bullard - Pueblo Chieftain - November 12, 1997 - Richard W. Bullard, 86, formerly of Pueblo, died Nov. 9, 1997, in Las Cruces, N.M. Mr. Bullard was born in Horace, Kan., in 1910. He was an electrical engineer at White Sands Missile Range, N.M., retiring in 1974. Mr. Bullard attended primary and secondary schools in Pueblo, Colo. He received a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado in Boulder and a M.A. degree in education from Columbia University in New York. Richard Wellington Bullard married Velma Verone Rose in Pueblo, Colo., in 1936. They recently celebrated 61 years of marriage together. Mr. Bullard is preceded in death by his brother, Phil Stephens, also of Pueblo. Mr. Bullard is survived by his wife, Velma, and a son, Stan Bullard, both of Las Cruces, N.M. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997, at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Ross Kershaw officiating. Velma Verone Rose Bullard - Pueblo Chieftain - January 05, 2000 - Velma Verone Rose Bullard, 90, passed away on Jan. 2, 2000, at Aspen House in Las Cruces, N.M. Mrs. Bullard was born July 25, 1909, in Johnstown, Neb., to F. Stanton Rose and Edna Humphrey Rose. Her family later moved to southern Colorado where her father and mother homesteaded the land. Mrs. Bullard attended primary and secondary schools in Pueblo. In 1932, she graduated from Colorado College in Colorado Springs with a major in biology and a minor in English. Velma Rose married Richard "Dick" Bullard on June 20, 1936. She and Richard were married for 61 years. In Colorado, Mrs. Bullard was a homemaker and public school teacher. She was a member of the Reserve Officer Association, where her husband was a Major in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. She was also a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Mrs. Bullard had resided in Las Cruces since 1959. She was a past member of the following organizations: Knife and Fork Club, Southwest Mental Health, American Association of University Women and Women's Improvement Association. Mrs. Bullard was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Bullard; brothers, Orin Rose and Austin Rose; and nephews, Donald Stephens and Orin S. Rose. She is survived by her son, Stan Bullard of Las Cruces; niece, Ruth Simon of Pueblo; grand niece, Michelle Godri of Douglassville, Pa.; and a grand nephew, Brett Simon of Austin, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at Roselawn Cemetery, with Rev. Ross Kershaw officiating. Kyle W. Bunch Sr. - Pueblo Chieftain - March 29, 1978 - Kyle W. Bunch Sr., passed away in a local hospital. Survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary W. Bunch of 2520 Hyacinth, where the family may be contacted. Father of Kyle Bunch Jr., also of Pueblo, grandfather of four and brother of Warren A. Bunch of Iola, Kan., and Mrs. Erdine Brown of Beaver Dam, Ky. Mr. Bunch was a member of the Masonic lodge of Amarillo, Texas, the Shriners of Amarillo and First Presbyterian Church. He was born Nov. 26, 1891, in Rochester, Ky., and had been a Pueblo resident since 1970. He was employed as a superintendent for Kerr-McGee Oil Co. Mr. and Mrs. Bunch were married Feb. 28, 1923. Service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, 220 W. 10th, with the Rev. R. Michael Holmes officiating. Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens.

Bunch Sr. Surviving are his wife, Barbara- mother-in-law, Annie Smith, of the family home- children, Latisha Bunch, Pueblo, Allen (Debbie) Bunch, Fort Worth, Marsha (Don) Throndson-Merry, Denver, and Kyle J. Bunch PhD., Salt Lake City- stepchildren, Carol (James) Wunder, Orlando, and David (Linda) Blazis, Colorado Springs- grandchildren, Courtney Throndson and Eric, Amy and Kyle E. Bunch- step grandchildren, Aaron, Lauren and Edward Blazis, Emily, Bethany and Stephanie Wunder- brother-in-law, Robert E. Smith, Houston- and nephews and cousins. Born Oct. 30, 1925, in Breckenridge, Texas, raised in Pampa, Texas, where he graduated from high school. He received his formal academic training at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a Master's Degree in Fine Arts and studied under Jan Van Porjenbroock, Antwerp, Belgium. Kyle taught art in Colorado public schools for 35 years, beginning in Olney Springs, then Spann Elementary, Corwin Middle School and the last 18 years at South High. Mr. Bunch taught art classes for the Parks Department for over 20 years. He had an active art business, specializing in oils and was intrigued by lights, textures and reflections. He opened his first studio in Taos and has paintings in private collections in virtually every state. Kyle was a founder, charter member and second president of the Pueblo Art Guild- one of the originators and first superintendent of the Colorado State Fair art show- a member of the Beulah Valley Arts Council, the Greenhorn Valley Arts Council, Colorado Springs Art Guild, Sangre de Cristo Arts Center, Fremont County Arts Center and the Colorado Artists Association. Kyle was an avid dancer and was a member of the Broadmoor Waltz Club, a charter member of the Southern Colorado Family Polka Club- charter and board member of Footnotes Ballroom Dance Club- Pairs and Spares and Buttons and Bows square dance clubs- Roundalaires, Rythmaires, Debonaires, Columbine Twirlers and Twilight Twirlers Round Dance Clubs. He was also a member of the Pueblo Aerie No. 145 (FOE) and Pueblo Elks No. 90. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service, 2 p.m. Monday, First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Dr. John Ross officiating. Bunk, Rudolph
Rudolph "Rudy" Bunk - Pueblo Chieftain - December 16, 2005 - Rudolph "Rudy" Bunk, 86, passed away in Pueblo, Colo., on Dec. 13, 2005. Born on Dec. 29, 1918, in Walsenburg, Colo., to Rudolph and Anna Bunk, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Bunk; daughters, Judy (Paul) Liapis, Carol (Brent) Daniels, Jean; son, Ron (Linda) Bunk; two grandchildren, Matthew Liapis and Andrea (Stephen) Jackson; sister, Irene (Virgil) Ladurini; and extended loving family. Rudy served in the United States Army in the European Theater during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. He retired from the Pueblo Army Depot after 30 years of service. Rudy was a lifetime member of the Pueblo Elks Lodge No. 90 and Disabled American Veterans. He was a dedicated member of the Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years. Bunk, Rudolph Joseph
Rudolph Joseph Bunk - Huerfano World - August 16, 1973 - Rudolph Joseph Bunk, 77, of 508 W. Pinon, Walsenburg, died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack at his home shortly after noon August 9th (Thursday). Mr. Bunk had been under doctor's care for the past years for a heart condition. Mr. Bunk was born in Austria on April 3, 1896. He came to the United States about the age ten with his parents to Ohio where a sister had been living. After a short time, his parents moved to Walsenburg where Mr. Bunk started school. At the age of thirteen he began working in the coal mines. He also had been employed during his adult years as agent for the Denver Post; he worked for the American Refrigerator Transit on the railroad. He purchased the Norton Court Motel in 1928 which he and his wife operated until his retirement in 1965. Mr. Bund and his wife, Anna, celebrated their fifty-sixth wedding anniversary on June 25, of this year. Mr. Bunk was a member of St. Mary Church, the Walsenburg Lodge, No. 1086 BPO Elks, and was a charter member of a social club, the Miz-Pah Club. Surviving Mr. Bunk are his wife, Anna Bunk, Walsenburg, a son, Rudolph Fred Bunk, Pueblo, a daughter, Mrs. Virgil Ladurini, Walsenburg, a brother, Joseph Bunk, Oliphant, Pennsylvania, six grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Recitation of the Rosary will be held 7:30 p.m., Sunday, at St. Mary Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be offered 10:00 a.m., Monday, St. Mary Church. Christopher James Bunker – Pueblo Chieftain – October 27, 2006 -Christopher James Bunker, 37, passed away Oct. 15, 2006, in Lakewood, Colo. He was born on July 19, 1969, in Pueblo. He is survived by his wife, Kristin; son, Daniel; parents, Jim and Charlotte Bunker; brother, Vince (Niki); niece, Amanda; in-laws, Tom (Ann) Botkin; brothers-in-law, Matt (Allison) Steck and Andrew Botkin; sister-in-law, Andrea. Chris also is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Chris graduated from Central High School in 1988. He was a member of the Pride City and Sun City bands. Chris worked as a welder for the Rio Grande Residential Fabrication Co., Denver, Colo. Memorial service, 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, Romero Chapel.
