Bilger, George Jr.
George Bilger Jr. - Pueblo Chieftain - December 10, 1998 - George Bilger Jr., 60, passed away Dec. 8, 1998. Survived by his wife, Teresa Bilger, of the family home- and children, Peggy Bilger, Greg (Joni) Bilger, and Michael (Wendy) Bilger, all of Pueblo. Grandfather of Gage and Blaine Bilger. Also survived by brothers, Edward (Betty Jean) Bilger, and Lawrence Bilger, Pueblo- sister, Anna Marie Goosey, Brookfield, Mo. - mother-in-law, Alice Hoffman- brother-in-law, Charles (Bonnie) Hoffman, all of Pueblo- and sisters-in-law, Sandra Alexander of Pueblo, and Sue (Frank) Ankele of Brighton- as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Bilger was employed with maintenance at School District 60 for 31 years retiring in 1993. An avid fisherman, Mr. Bilger especially enjoyed fishing the Arkansas River. He was also a woodcrafter who could fashion toys, Christmas gifts and many other keepsakes. At his request, cremation, Almont Crematory. Mr. Bilger was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church parish where a will be held Friday, 10:30 a.m.

Lawrence Bilger - Pueblo Chieftain - September 06, 1999 - Lawrence Bilger, born April 5, 1937, passed away Sept. 4, 1999. Preceded in death by his parents, George and Matilda Bilger- and brother, George Bilger Jr. Survived by his son, Kevin Bilger- brother Edward (Betty Jean) Bilger- sister, Anna Marie Goosey- and sister-in-law, Teresa Bilger. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Cremation with, 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999, at George McCarthy Historic Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ICU unit at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital.

Sister Mary Carol Biller - Kansas City Star - November 01, 1994 - Sister Mary Carol Biller, 83, Atchison, Kan., a former teacher in this area, died Oct. 30, 1994, in the Dolley Center at Mount St. Scholastica, Atchison. Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the St. Scholastica Chapel, Atchison; burial in the sisters' cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Dolley Center, where vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Sister Mary Carol taught at St. Pius X School, Kansas City, Kan., in 1959-60; at St. Benedict's School, Atchison, from 1954 to 1959; at St. Anthony's School in Kansas City, Kan., in 1949-50 and from 1952 to 1954; and at St. Benedict School in Kansas City, Kan., in 1932-33. She also taught in National City, Calif.; San Ysidro, Calif.; Beatrice, Neb.; Good Intent, Kan.; Walsenburg, Colo.; and Dawson, Neb. She taught at St. Louis College in Atchison from 1935 to 1937. She was born Anna Marie BILLER in St. Joseph, joined the Benedictine Sisters in 1930 and professed her vows in 1932 Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Billings, Esco R. Jr.
Esco R. Billings Jr. - Pueblo Chieftain - May 09, 2003 - Esco R. Billings Jr., 81, departed this life on May 7, 2003. Preceded in death by his parents, Esco R. Billings and Lorea Billings. Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lois M. Billings; children, Sharon (Rich) Zajac, Esco R. (Valerie) Billings III, Daniel (Debbie) Billings, Lela (Gary) Mowry, Sheila Billings, Susan (Bill) Miller, David (Lael) Billings; brothers, Jim (Rosie) Billings, Bill (Norma) Billings; aunt, Loretta Dodge; grandchildren, Bob (Karen) Barger, Christa (Mark) Riggle, Jeremiah (Leslie) Rojas, Kyle Billings, Kenneth Brantley, Ross Billings, Amanda Billings, Brandon Billings, Ariann Billings, Kevin (Tricia) Miller, Jessica Miller, David Lee Billings Jr., Craig Billings, Ariel Billings; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Esco proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during both WWII and the Korean War. He returned home to raise his family in Pueblo, where he retired from the Pueblo City Fire Department as an assistant fire chief. Esco was a member of Silver State lodge No. 95 AF&AM, Pueblo Elks Lodge No. 90, American Legion, DAV No. 2 and Eagles Lodge No. 145. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather; his family was always number one in his life. He will be forever loved, remembered and deeply missed by his family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday May 10, 2003, in the Community of Christ, at the corner of Blackburn and McNeil streets. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery. His family will receive extended family and friends at the home of Esco III, 1763 28th Lane, immediately following the services. Billington, Norman James
Norman James Billington - Wilson County News - April 13, 2004 - Floresville, TX - Former Bremerton resident Norman James Billington, 83, of Lewis, Colo., died July 25, 2002, in Lewis. He was born Dec. 8, 1918, in Gulnare, Colo., to Norman I. and Violet (McKiddie) Billington. Mr. Billington served in the Army during World War II. He later worked as a meat cutter in the Bremerton area. He enjoyed fly-fishing and card games. Mr. Billington was the last surviving member of his family. A graveside service was held July 30 at Cortez Cemetery in Cortez, Colo., under the direction of Ertel Funeral Home.

Billups, Howard Dean
Howard Dean Billups - Pueblo Chieftain - May 30, 2003 - Howard Dean Billups passed away May 25, 2003, in Pueblo. Howard was born Aug. 12, 1917, in West Virginia, and had been a longtime Pueblo resident. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be remembered for his honesty, high morals and good values as well as his love for his family. He will always be with us in spirit. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Rush B. and Elma Dean Billups; and son-in-law, Forest Irvin Woods. His survivors include his wife, Loretta M. Billups of Pueblo; daughters, Patricia Ann Woods of Colorado, and Phyllis Jean (Stanley) Dorris of Colorado; brothers, Glen L. Billups of Pennsylvania, Joseph D. Billups of Florida; beloved sister, Lois Jean Hathaway of West Virginia; his grandchildren, Lawrence H. Dorris, Joanne A. Thomas and Forest V. (Meg) Woods; and great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Ryan and Michael Thomas; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives. Cremation in the Davis Crematory. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2003, in the Davis Memorial Chapel with Pastor Diane Bell officiating. Grace Bilotti - Pueblo Chieftain - May 16, 1999 - Grace Bilotti; age 71, died May 14, 1999, in Trinidad, Colo. She was born March 16, 1928, in Segundo, Colo., to Angelo and Nellie (Rockaforte) Barbero. Grace graduated from Primero High School. She had been a Trinidad resident for the past 71 years. She was married to Joseph Bilotti on Aug. 18, 1951, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Trinidad, Colo. She worked for Deluxe Studio and then for Safeway for 37 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Holy Trinity Altar Society and the Trinidad Knife and Fork Club. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Grace is survived by her husband, Joe Bilotti, Trinidad- brother, Ralph (Elaine) Barbero, Cerritos, Calif. - sisters, Angie (George) Bonacquisti, Downey, Calif., Phyllis (Joe) Bassetti, Pueblo, Nell (Donald) Guarienti, Albuquerque, N.M., - sister-in-law, Rose Simpleman- and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Maxine Bilyeu - Pueblo Chieftain - March 02, 1998 - Maxine Bilyeu, 64, of Las Animas, departed this life in La Junta, Colo., Feb. 27, 1998. She was born May 12, 1933, in Campo, Colo., the daughter of Elmer and Dorothy Rusk Houser. She is survived by her husband, Everett Bilyeu, of their home in Las Animas- her children, Vicki Bilyeu of Tustin, Calif., Jo Ell (Don) Frantz of Las Animas, Sherri (Gilbert) Davis of Rocky Ford and Stanley (Tracey) Bilyeu of Las Animas, Colo.- and her grandchildren, Alec Bilyeu-Cordova, Caitlyn Frantz, Alissa, Natasha and Alexandria Davis and Wyatt Bilyeu. Also survived by a very special friend, Lucille Melchior, four sisters and seven brothers, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends. Barrie Binford - Pueblo Chieftain - December 13, 2003 - Barrie Binford, 74, passed away Dec. 9, 2003. Survived by his wife, Dorothy Beth Massey-Binford, of the family home in Pueblo West; children, John (Linda) Binford of Newport Beach, Calif., Jana (Richard) Roney of Seattle, Wash., and Mark Binford of Pueblo; brother, Dr. Laurence C. Binford of Baton Rouge, La.; sister-in-law, Barbara (Harvey) Mizel of Pueblo; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Irene Binford of Glencoe, Ill. Barrie was born in Chicago, Ill., on Sept. 23, 1929, and worked for Weyerhaeuser Co. and Timberline Pipe Co. He was a member of several clubs and organizations and was a tireless worker for the Republican Party. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Services and interment will be held in Michigan at a later date.

Biondi, Ellen
Ellen Biondi - Huerfano World - October 26, 2006 - Ellen Biondi died October 17, 2006 in Florence. She was born November 20, 1916 in Sharpsdale, CO to Nickolas Ketcham and Mary Ellen Ketcham and lived in Huerfano County until moving to Canon city in 1999 to be closer to family. She loved embroidery, gardening and her pets. Ellen was preceded in death by her husband Fred Biondi in 1985. Her survivors include her children Marie (Sheldon) Downer, Shirley (Steve) Standiferd, John Sporcich, Jerry Lee Sporcich, Kenneth (Sharon) Sporcich, 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and several nieces and nephews. Cremation in the Davis Crematory. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2006 in the St. Benedict Catholic Church, 622 W. 2nd in Florence. Frank Biondi - Huerfano World – February 9, 1961 - Pallbearers Named for Frank Biondi - Oscar Santi, Joseph Habib, James Carelia, John Amidei, Joe Falsetta, and A.S. Lenzini, Jr., were the active pallbearers for the funeral of Frank Biondi on Monday. Honorary pallbearers were Vincent Repola, Frank LoPresto, Ernest Barbari, John Lenzini, and Pete Bassi.

Biondi, Louie
Louie Biondi - Huerfano World - February 23, 1989 - Louie Biondi, 75, of Walsenburg, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 1989, in St. Mary Corwin Hospital in Pueblo. Born and reared in Toltec, he was the postmaster there for several years and then began working in the mines around the Huerfano County area. He worked in the mines for 20 years before owning and operating Biondi's Sporting Goods in Walsenburg. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1187, the Knights of Columbus 2139, treasurer of the Elks Lodge 1086, BPOE Walsenburg, and a member of the Local United Mine Workers #9856, Trinidad. He is survived by a brother, John Biondi, and a sister, Mary A. Biondi, both of Walsenburg; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Rosary was recited Monday and Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday from St. Mary Church. Burial was in North St. Mary Cemetery. Boies Almont was in charge of arrangements.

Bertha Jane Biondolillo - Pueblo Chieftain - March 12, 2005 - Bertha Jane Biondolillo, 80, born Nov. 13, 1924, passed away March 10, 2005. Preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Sam Biondolillo; and parents, Tony and Helen Todero. Survived by her sister, Angel (Frank) Pantleo; daughters, Mary (Bud) Zupancic, Jane (Tom) Tye; sons, Bob (Paula) Biondolillo and Sam J. (Marylyn) Biondolillo; grandchildren, Cheri (Joe) Young, Bonnie (Phil) Hernandez, Kimberly (Chad) Jeffries, David (April) Tye and Patrick J. Biondolillo; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Alire, Kayla, Alexis and Ryan Timme and Haleigh Jeffries. Bertha was a loving wife, mother and a devoted SRDA volunteer for many years. Thanks to those at the Pavilion who took special care of her. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to all the caring staff at hospice. Service, 2 p.m. Monday, George McCarthy Historic Chapel. Catherine (Katie) Biondolillo - Pueblo Chieftain - October 12, 1998 - Catherine (Katie) Biondolillo, born May 8, 1907, passed away Oct. 10, 1998. Went to be with her husband, Phillip, who preceded her in death. Survived by her daughter, Mary (Gerald) Dremel - son, Frank Biondolillo- and daughter-in-law, Reeva Biondolillo, all of Pueblo. Grandmother of Karen, Rae Ann, Mark, David, Gerald, Frank, Tom, Sandy, Phillip, Vincent, Tony, Chris, Cary- and 17 great-grandchildren. Also preceded in death by two sons, Sammy and Leonard Biondolillo- brothers, John, Carl, Nick and Ted Buccola. Also survived by her sister, Eva (Joe) Godec, of Pueblo. Mrs. Biondolillo belonged to the Altar Society of Our Lady of Assumption Church. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting for her family. Viewing, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday. Preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Biondolillo- father, Robert R. Wood- and mother and father-in-law, Phillip and Catherine Biondolillo. Survived by her mother, Alice Wood, Pueblo, Colo. - sons, Chris (Michelle) Biondolillo and Cary Biondolillo- and granddaughter, Nicole, Pueblo, Colo. Also survived by brother, Robert (Rose) Wood Jr., Artesia, N.M.- sister, Kathryn (Norman) Wiedrick, Pueblo, Colo.- sister-in-law, Mary (Gerald) Dremel, Pueblo West, Colo.- and brother-in-law, Frank Biondolillo, Pueblo, Colo.- as well as numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and a special friend, Anthony (A.J.) DeLuca. Mrs. Biondolillo retired from the CF&I Steel Corporation after 27 1/2 years of service. In 1984, she established and operated Pride City Printing. She was the president of the Pueblo Elkettes No. 90, a member of Pueblo Aerie 145 Ladies Auxiliary (FOE), ALTRUSA International, precinct chairwoman for the Democratic Party, member of Dante Alighieri Society and the finance committee for Holy Family Parish. Madesta "Vesta" Birch – Pueblo Chieftain – September 27, 2006 - Madesta "Vesta" Birch, 91, joined her loving husband, Ralph Birch, on Sept. 25, 2006, in Pueblo, Colo. Madesta was born Nov. 15, 1914, in Wahpeton, N.D., to Carl and Alvina Hermes, who preceded her; along with her brother, Dwayne Hermes. Survived by her sons, Gary (Cheryl), Orion (Alice), Launnie (Betsy), Karl (Robin); 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Madesta retired as a registered nurse from St. Mary-Corwin Hospital in 1972. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Friday, Shrine of St. Therese. Entombment to follow at the Chapel of the Angels Mausoleum, Imperial Memorial Gardens.

Ralph F. Birch - Pueblo Chieftain - October 01, 2004 - Ralph F. Birch, 90, born Jan. 26, 1914, passed away Sept. 29, 2004. Survived by his loving wife and lifetime partner, Modesta Birch; children, Gary (Cheryl) Birch, Orion (Alice) Birch, Launnie (Betsy) Birch, and Karl (Robin) Birch; 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Rogers; and brother, Raymond Birch. Ralph was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and retired from the CF&I. He was a lifetime member of BPOE No. 90. Ralph enjoyed being with his family, traveling and going to Cripple Creek. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Monday, Shrine of St. Therese Church. Anna Birchler - Pueblo Chieftain - March 17, 2000 - Anna Birchler, age 85, was born in Segundo, Colo., on May 10, 1914, and passed away March 15, 2000. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Howard Birchler, who passed away Oct. 14, 1963. Also preceding her in death is her loving mother, Jennie Mattie and father, Joseph Mattie; sisters, Mary Musso and Rose Tapia; brothers, Arthur and Ernest Mattie; as well as brother-in-law, Peno Carnelli. She is survived by daughter, Linda Conklin; sisters, Josephine Carnelli, Lucy (Conrad) Pelletier of Torrance, Calif.; brothers, Sam (Frances) Mattie of Pueblo, Albert Mattie of Segundo, Colo., Joe Mattie of Pueblo. Also surviving is brother-in-law, Robert Tapia of Cokedale, Colo.; sister-in-law, Clara Mattie of Segundo, Colo.; grandsons, Jay (Debbie) Glaze, Ryan Conklin and several nieces and nephews. Bird, Georgia A.
Georgia A. Bird - Pueblo Chieftain - September 01, 2004 - Georgia A. Bird, 97, of Pueblo, passed away after a lengthy illness, with her loving family at her side on Aug. 29, 2004. Born Sept. 26, 1906, in Gering, Neb., to George and Sarah Hall. Preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Meadors; parents, two sisters, one brother; granddaughter, Sue Rusk; and grandson, Greg Bird. Survived by her loving husband of 65 years, George; children, George Meadors, Pattie Adams, Sam (Mary), Ron (Linda), Arthur "Corky" (Jan) Bird; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, Patricia Pumphrey; extended family; brother-in-law, Virgil Bird; sisters-in-law, Louise (Jerry) Bishop and Wyneta (Ira) Clendenning. Georgia loved to fish and golf. She was a member of Central Christian Church. A 50 year member of Cactus Star Rebekah No. 2, Easter Star, Past Queen Esther of Dames of Malta, Past Dept., President of G.A.R., Past Master of Steel City Grange 491. Bird, Henry H.
Henry H. Bird – Huerfano World – June 1, 2000 - Henry H. Bird died May 27, 2000 in the Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home in Walsenburg. He was a retired US Navy veteran of 20 years, and was a chief engineer in the Navy. Survivors include his wife, Odette Bird, Arvada; his children, Helen Bird, Pat McKinney, Richard Bird, Nancy Holzer and Michael Bird; two step-children, seven grandchildren and his many friends at the Veterans Home. Elaine Elizabeth Simmons Birdwell - Pueblo Chieftain - May 29, 2005 - Elaine Elizabeth Simmons Birdwell was born May 18, 1918, in Kearney County, Neb. As high school valedictorian in Long Beach, Calif., she attended the University of Southern California and Johns Hopkins Nursing School. She married her husband of 30 years, Joseph Rodger Simmons on May 18, 1946, and became prominent store owners in Pueblo. She was active in Quota Club, the American Legion and Knights of Columbus wives clubs, and Independent Order of Odd Fellows. She was a devoted Catholic until her death. She moved in 1984 to Dallas, Texas, to be near her daughter's family, then to Huntington Beach, Calif., in 1992, to marry Wheeler L. Birdwell Jr. She returned to Dallas in 1999 until her death. She is survived by daughter, Anne Ferris Simmons (Warren) Balden; grandchildren, Torrens, Raji, Elise, Evan, and Denique Balden; great-grandchildren, Christopher Balden, Jayden and Trinity Rockwell; nieces, Catherine Young-Dell of South Hadley, Mass., Elizabeth Young Albritton of Sarasota, Fla.; cousin, Mitzi Lucas Riley of Aledo, Texas. She is survived by her husband, George W. Birrer, three sons, Jeff Bishop, Greg Bishop, and George E. (Stephanie) Birrer and daughters, Teresa (Edward) Vasquez, Tilda (Doug) Haines and Alicia (George) Rodriquez, 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and her cat Sneakers. She was a phenomenal woman and had many friends and relatives who loved her. A resident of Walsenburg for 25 years, she was a member of St. Mary Church and also an active supporter of the Fox Theater as well as the co-owner of Dakota Mobile Home Park and Birco, Inc. Survived by her sister-in-law, Pauline Bish of Pueblo; nephews, Jay W. Tracey of Boston, Mass., and John R. Tracey of Pueblo; niece, Barbara Griffiths of Lubbock, Texas; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews. Ruth was born July 8, 1906, in Lancaster, Penn., and was reared in Rocky Ford. She graduated from McPherson College in McPherson, Kan. Ruth taught school in Springer, N.M., Gillette, Wyo., and Avondale, Colo., and retired from Sheridan, Wyoming School District and then returned to Rocky Ford. Survived by one sister, Arlyne Hudson of Ridgeway, Colo.; sister-in-law, Esther Bishard of Pueblo; niece, Bette Trenam of Addison, Texas, whom she raised; numerous other nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ed and Helen Reichert. Catherine was an accountant for Mid West Steel and P. Mayer Leather Company for many years. She was a member of Lake Avenue Baptist Church, a 66-year member of Pueblo Chapter No. 7 Order of Eastern Star, member of San Isabel Shrine No. 7 and helped promote the activities of Job's Daughters and Rainbow Girls. Alice M. Bishop - Pueblo Chieftain - January 23, 1913 - Widely Known Pueblo Woman Passes Away - Mrs. Alice M. Bishop, well known and greatly beloved by all who knew her passed away yesterday morning, after an illness of a few weeks duration. Mrs. Bishop was 63 years of age and her death will come as a great shock to her many friends.  The deceased had made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Ira E. Jones, of 1140 Claremont Ave. and was removed to a local hospital a few weeks ago.  She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ira E. Jones and Mrs. Roy Sutherland of Pueblo, Mrs. Harry C. Smith of Creston, Iowa and one son, Mr. Leslie C. Maxwell of Nephi, Utah.  The funeral services will be held at the McCarthy Funeral chapel tomorrow morning at 10:00 o'clock and from the United Presbyterian church at 10:30.  The remains of Mrs. Bishop will lie in state at the McCarthy chapel Friday morning between the hours of 8 and 10.  The internment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

The angels came to sweep her away to heaven on June 30, 2004. Predeceased by Bina and Bino Battiste Donati, who raised her since she was five years old; son, Vincent Bishop; father, Mose Gonzales; mother, Alyce Edwards; and brother, Vic Gonzales. Survived by Jim and Lanita Davis; sister-in-law, Virginia Gonzales; and her children, Steve, Sheree and Cindy; and numerous cousins and friends. Dessie enjoyed cooking and running errands. Her theory had always been that it is not how many friends you can acquire in a lifetime, it is how many you can keep that counts. She will be remembered as a fun-loving, kind, caring and generous friend to all. Dessie wanted to thank her many generous friends for their love, support and encouragement through the many years. Emma Bittman – Pueblo Chieftain – October 18, 2006 - Emma Bittman, 92, born Aug. 10, 1914, to Louis and Hermine (Wehr) Kring in Audubon, Iowa, and grew up in Arndt, N.D. Emma married Arnold Bittman on Dec. 26, 1940; and moved to Pueblo, Colo., in January 1942, where she "devoted her life to her home and family." Emma left this life on Oct. 8, 2006, to reunite with loved ones who preceded her, her parents, two sisters, four brothers; and three special angels, daughters, Edna Bittman, Roberta Mendicello and Arna Atwater. She leaves to remember and love her, her husband of 65 years, Arnold of Legacy Commons, Pueblo West, their home for the last two years; daughters, June (Hugh) Byerly of Pueblo West, and Norma (Bob) Yagnich of Golden, Colo.; sister, Gertrude Porter, Cando, N.D.; four grandchildren, Cindy Byerly, Grand Junction, Colo., Ken (Denise) Byerly, Corrales, N.M., Nicole (Carlos) Murillo, Farmington, N.M., and Amanda (Jesse) Jacobs, Pueblo; four great-grandchildren, Ben (Angela) Byerly, Buena Vista, Colo., Steven Byerly, Canon City, Colo., Brittney and Jake Hood, both of Grand Junction, Colo.; one great-great-grandchild, Anthony Murillo, Farmington, N.M., and Emma Joy Murillo, arriving in January 2007; numerous nieces and nephews; and her family of two years at the Legacy Commons in Pueblo West. Biundo, James Joseph
James Joseph Biundo - Pueblo Chieftain - February 22, 1998 - James Joseph Biundo, Castle Rock, formerly of Pueblo, passed away in Denver after a short illness on Feb. 19, 1998. He attended Pueblo Centennial High School, and earned his B.A. at the University of Northern Colorado at Greeley and master's at Utah State University. He served as president of U.S. West Investment Co. of Englewood, and was a partner of Forstmann-Leff, a Chicago-based investment firm. Survived by wife, JoAnn- daughters, Stephanie (Scott) Cavallaro and Sonni Biundo- grandson, Jackson James Cavallaro- parents, Joseph and Olga Biundo, Pueblo- sister, Martha (Frank) Kinnaird, Pueblo- and several nieces, nephews and special friends. , 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Plum Creek Club House, Castle Rock.

Biundo, Olga Valentina
Olga Valentina Biundo - Pueblo Chieftain - February 10, 2005 - Olga Valentina Biundo, 82, passed away Feb. 6, 2005. Olga was born Feb. 14, 1922, in Salida, Colo. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Biundo; and her son, James J. Biundo. Survived by her daughter, Martha L. Kinnaird (Frank); grandchildren, Donald M. Bryant (Terry) of Dallas, Mark L. Bryant (Sonia) of Englewood, Stephanie Cavallaro (Scott) of Littleton, Sonni Marbary (Frank) of Littleton; and eight great-grandchildren. Also survived by her brothers and sister, Daniel (Katherine) Granzella, Zita (John) Milder, Ralph (Esther) Granzella and Cyril (Sharon) Granzella. Special friends of Olga include doctors Gregario and Haydee Kort and their children Marcello and Gabriela. Olga was employed at Colorado State Hospital for 40 years. Memorial Mass, 10:30 a.m. Saturday, St. Pius X Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens. In lieu of food and flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or St. Pius X Church in her memory.

Bivins, Beulah M.
Beulah M. Bivins - Pueblo Chieftain - August 11, 1998 - Beulah M. Bivins, 87, of Rocky Ford died Aug. 7, 1998, at Pioneer Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 20, 1908, in Beaver County, Okla. She was a child care worker and restaurant owner. Funeral, 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998, at Rocky Ford Cemetery, Minister James Gunter officiating. Interment, Hillcrest Cemetery.

Bizup, John Jr.
John Bizup Jr. – Colorado Public Defender - August 14, 1964 - John Bizup Jr., Pueblo. W-W. Asphyxiation. Bizup was executed for the robbery-murder of a cab driver, Roy Don Bussey. Bizup, age thirty, had been hitchhiking through Colorado at the time of the crime. He had been in reform schools and jails since age twelve. Bizup confessed to the murder and claimed an insanity defense. One psychiatrist supported that claim, while three opposed it. The conviction was affirmed on appeal, and his petition for a writ of habeas corpus was denied. Shortly before his death, a psychiatrist concluded that Bizup was sane, and Governor John Love refused to commute the sentence. During the execution, cries of “killers” and “murderers” yelled by other prisoners and directed at the prison staff were heard in the death chamber.
