10-29-1874 Colorado Weekly Chieftain Commissioned - Our worthy citizen, Judge George, has not for some days past been seen on our streets. It was rumored that he had gone to Washington expecting a commission form Gen. Grant for some lucrative office. On Wednesday last he put in an appearance, and the amount of dignity displayed by him was unusual. Some great trust had been placed in his keeping or else maybe he had fallen heir to great fortune. By reference to our "Births" it will be seen that the judge is commissioned a father, and the fortune is a ten thousand dollar son - a nine pounder. All well.
10-29-1874 Colorado Weekly Chieftain The following letter was received at our office on Wednesday: "I have got a bouncing big girl, born o the 18th at half past six." As the letter has no signature we can't say who it is that has that "bouncing big girl." - Our old friend Mr. R.N. Daniels is the father of that big bouncing girl mentioned in our issue yesterday. We presume that Robert was so overjoyed by the event that he forgot to sign the letter. He has our congratulations.

2-6-1879 Colorado Weekly Chieftain On Saturday last a young lady came to the house of our friend L.C. Powell, on the Greenhorn. She is diminutive in size and light of weight, but there is a heap of land to the acre in that country and she will have room to grow. Mother and child are doing well, and the old man is feeling pretty comfortable, seeing that he now has a pair to draw for. His first was a boy.
